Hi Apple and MacRumors friends.

Has anyone successfully run Windows 11 via Boot Camp, on an Intel iMac, specifically the Late 2015 iMac? If yes, did enabling the Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 have any effect on macOS? I use Windows, usually for gaming after a hard week's work (on a sunday) and macOS for critical work and when I log in social media (less malware).

Thank you.

I too am interested in this. I am running Windows 10 on my 2020 iMac in Bootcamp, and the update will not install. I have read several articles about bypassing the TPM check, but I was hoping somebody else was brave enough to try it first. :)

Hi, thanks. If everything's safe, you can try Aomei, it'll offer you to turn those two things TPM and Secure Boot I believe but lets ask Apple Support on Twitter (they respond there, very fast, like it's their choice for support) but I wish one of the popular Youtubers could try it first, like MKBHD or iJustine, take one for the team.

This is from Apple Support on Twitter. Let's ask for this feature, so it'll be easy to enable TPM and Secure Boot on iMacs and Macs, safely without fear:

Hey! Thanks for reaching out. While this feature isn’t currently available for your device, we definitely appreciate the feedback. We recommend sending the feedback directly by using this link: http://apple.co/Feedback The more feedback we get, the more we know what features you would like to see!

God bless, Rev. 21:4

You won't be able to run it natively without some sort of massive hackery.

a) your CPU is too old (6th gen, minimum 8th gen)
b) Apple computers don't have a TPM 2.0, not even the latest 2020 models
c) Apple computers don't support Secure Boot

You may be able to run it in Parallels should they be able to emulate all those features and trick the installer into accepting it.

Hello,
I have installed it on dual boot on Mac Intel. And it works very well. You can find my method here.

I'm new to this.....but wanted to try windows 11 on my 2015 MBP. Looks like I can't get windows 11 (no more PCs in my household) on any of my macs using BootCamp if I tried?

Oh well....sorry Microsoft.

Kinda ridiculous if you ask me.

Hi. There's good news, this is the latest, I've seen who's successfully installed Windows 11 on the Intel Mac without bricking his Mac and took one for the Mac team but it's best to backup everything. If you don't need Windows 11 yet, that's now, thankfully like macOS-like or OS X-like (looks like the old OS X), Windows 10 is where we're stuck with:

Installed Windows 11 on my iMac 2020 27" through Bootcamp without too much hassle, using the regedit work round for the TPM 2.0, pretty easy to do and works fine. Got all my games running through Steam.

Just seen the above work around there is a lot easier way of doing it through boot camp and a simple regedit on installation.

Come to think of now, there's not significant update in Windows 11.

I think I'll wait for Windows 12 ARM when we all have  Silicon M5 and Intel, AMD and Nvidia're are sadly dead (too late switching to ARM in my calculation who rested on their laurels) but then most AAA games may have switched to macOS, so there's no point with Windows, I predict- It'll be like Linux but then macOS will then get the malwares.

Hi. I got to install Windows 11 Pro and got to activate it (I had a license that worked in Windows 10 Pro but had an error activating it) with the method above and this activation method. I wasn't able to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11, I'm starting everything from a clean slate (no rollback when it wasn't an upgrade) but it did save the old Windows 10 (Boot Camp), including the program files as windows.old, I have yet to find the Desktop though. Things like Epic Games Launcher will all need to be reinstalled. It's good I backed up my most important Windows 10 Boot Camp files.

https://www.easeus.com/knowledge-center/how-to-activate-windows-11.html

I was contemplating if I should move forward with Windows 11 or stick with Windows 10, until 2025 or until Windows 11 is more upgrade friendly but Windows 11 is more organized, more beautiful, less stress to do things with and more responsive even with the effects on. I'm using Windows 11 moving forward for my games and diagnostics (I don't use to for work or to login to banks, it's for entertainment after a hard weeks work, on sundays).

Within a year or year and half, hopefully when Apple has OLED Pro monitors and OLED iMacs, I plan to migrate everything to  Silicon and sell, trade at Apple or donate these Intel Macs or keep it if Elgate or OWC figures out a hardware hack we can install to use the 5K iMacs as external monitors.

Have a great and smooth Windows 11 install.

Also trying to install Windows 11 on my iMac 2020. How did you get around this error after selecting the Windows 11 ISO in the bootcamp assistant?

I did not bother with Bootcamp, except to download required drivers. Just use Rufus to make USB installer of Windows 11 .iso on a Windows machine, create a MS-DOS partition with DiskUtility on your Mac and install it there as normal

Hi, backup first before anything else. if I remember, I tried this too (using Bootcamp Assistant to install it like it officially supports Windows 11 which I believe Apple doesn't, they don't have the Windows 11 Bootcamp drivers but in my case the oldest update for the Boot Camp Windows 10 drivers for my quite old Mac thankfully works). Boot Camp Assistant is more for just partitioning for Windows 11. When it's finished partitioning for Windows (always use Apple's partitioning app to partition Windows else if could break an SSD by infinitely writing on it, using up all its write cycles, especially if you leave it overnight, trying to figure out the way it was partitioned, if it's the partition is moved in any way by non-Apple app), when you restart you must boot to a Windows USB installer (I remember creating one using an actual PC but Balena is a good way to burn bootable image like .iso to a an external USB flashdrive or disk- not sure perhaps to an external Firewire or Thunderbolt external drive as well which would be faster).

When you get to boot Windows 11 (that combo upon boot up, if you use Restart, count 1 second or "one thousand one" before pressing Option), you can install it on the Windows partition made by Boot Camp (hopefully, the partition would be in the proper order so there will be no need to issue some commands on the Windows 11 installer's command line). In the installer it's best to copy the latest Windows Support for your Mac (it's drivers for Windows so you're Mac peripherals and features like Bluetooth work).

May your install be very successful, have a blessed day.
