Hmm..ok, maybe I will give it a try. I may have no choice depending on how the :apple: Watch ends up working w/ or w/o the phone.

I saw those online, but got the impression would not fit a 6 Plus. Have you used it with one? Is it snug? Does it flop around with each stride due to the weight?

yeah it fits the 6+. It fits phones bigger than the 6+. Its stretchy enough to fit it.

and No it doesn't bounce at all, not even a little bit. its all compressed onto your body by its elasticity. Its spandex/ployester, so you don't have to worry about it moving up or down your body, and you never have to worry about things falling out since you can flip the belt on you so the opening where you put your stuff in would be on the inside.

Of course it will be a tighter fit the bigger the phone, but I mean thats the price of getting big phones. But I never had an issue or an after thought using it with my phone. it comes in plenty of colors as well. I got the blue one to match my running sneakers, which is why I'm getting the blue band Sport watch lol.

OP, are you getting this mostly to run? Or are you seeing it as a great everyday deal that will be nice to have on your runs? In other words, do you view this purchase as a running watch with great extra features, or a smartwatch that can track your runs?

This is the right question to ask. If one is looking for a running watch first and foremost, this is not the best choice. If one wants a smartwatch that will do ok on runs, this looks to be an excellent choice.

I suspect that the Apple watch would struggle to last for long distance running and if it does, it might mean charging directly before and directly after a run such as a marathon. That might only be an issue though if it's paired to an iPhone while running. But, if you're like me and like to see the map at the end of a run, GPS for running is a must. I don't think it measures incline on its own and that can be important for training.

6½ hours Workout App/HR Sensor/Paired to iPhone.

I still own a Nike+ GPS watch and I do run with my 6+.

As for the sneakers not having the space for the sensor, they sell little pouches that attach to your shoe laces. Garmin has used a similar set up for years.

I would rather have GPS built into the :apple:watch as well.

Agree that marathon runners may have battery issues as well.

Mike Nike+ cost me $129.99 ($16.19 after reward zone certificates). So $349+? Not sure I'm going for it.

Good question, but I am not considering this purchase as for the sole purpose of having a running/fitness watch. Don't get me wrong, I was really looking forward to that functionality, but I dunno, maybe the battery life just doesn't make it practical. I still like enough features that I think it would be worth it for me for other reasons.

Like on the fly siri commands for to do apps, and text notifications. (For my job, I take call. My "pages" are forwarded to my phone, so with the watch, I could relax at home and not have to worry about if my phone is with me to not miss an important page for example).

I think it will be worth the $349 or $399 I'm planning to spend on the sport edition (haven't decided on 38mm vs 42mm) but without that running capability, I don't think much more than that.

so I can finally go out for a run, track my runs, and not have to have a huge phone strapped to my arm.

I know this isn't the larger point of the thread, but I've been using this:

It fits my 6+ just fine. Seems like a better alternative than having it strapped to your arm. :)
