To date, Little Voice is the only Apple TV+ original to officially ended its run.

But these non-kids/docu-series have yet to be renewed:
  • Amazing Stories (it's been 16 months so I think it's safe to say it won't be renewed)
  • Ghostwriter (finished its second season 3 months ago)
  • Home Before Dark (just finished its second season)
  • Mythic Quest (finished its second season 2 months ago)
  • Schimigadoon! (just finished its first season)
As much as I would love another season (or reboot) of Mythic Quest, the last episode closed all the loose ends nicely.
Incorrect actually. Ghostwriter had its 3rd season renewal announced! 100%

And Amazing Stories and Home Before Dark are definitely done, IMO.

I expect MQ to get a renewal announcement as a big Apple surprise for the fans in the next few months. And I would love (but don't expect) a Schmigadoon S2 renewal, as S1 wrapped things up pretty cleanly.

I reckon mythic quest finished up at the right spot. A third season would not be mythic quest, but something else.
Yet, there is almost certainly going to be another season (if not multiple additional seasons). Apple will throw money at it to make it happen - and the writers on MQ already stated that they are excited about the challenge of taking the S2 finale and using S3 to bring everyone back together.

McElhenney is seriously one of the funniest guys on TV. I’m so happy Apple took a bet on Mythic Quest.

This is incredibly cringe. Brown nosing to Apple to get a mediocre show extended

No amount of brown-nosing is going to convince Apple to renew any show. If it’s not successful, they’ll move on. Mythic Quest has not been renewed yet, but Tim Cook cited it as one of their most popular programs during the last earnings call. With McElhenney’s divided attention between his football team and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, there’s reason to believe that it was his call not to continue at this time.

Thanks for the info.

As for Schmigadoon!, while you are right about the wrap up (albeit rushed), the episode left the door open for a second season. Perhaps the series can pivot with new ideas like The Good Place (for instance, using more modern era musicals as the template)?

I beg to differ, better content are found elsewhere worth my spare time.

Peacock: The Office, Parks and recreation, Dateline
Disney+
HBO: Sopranos, The Wire, Chernobyl, Boardwalk Empire

Yes, all of those are great shows. Your opinion of them may differ, but I don't think any of them are as good as Ted Lasso.

Ted Lasso is the only thing going on for Apple TV+ and they can't stop talking about it. When its free its ok, but will you pay $10 just for Ted Lasso? Maybe the morning show is good, but the other shows even they are good there are better options out there worth your time.

Isn't AppleTV $5 a month? :)

You can pay for a single month of AppleTV+ and binge both seasons at the end if all you wanted was Ted Lasso.

But I think the idea is that there might be other shows you could be interested in to continue the subscription.

AppleTV+ has the smallest catalog... but also the smallest price. So there's that.

Most of the stuff you mention is old and not new content.

For now its $5 but again, as you said, if you want to pay that price for Ted Lasso thats ok. To each his own liking

I do not care for new content, and no one should. Great/Good content is what we should aim for. Why should I watch a horrible new show when there is a great show like Breaking Bad from 2008 that I still didn't watch?

New ≠ Worthwhile/Good
Great Show(old or new) = Worthwhile

In the end, its entertainment, and you watch or pay for whatever you like and people like different things.

I guess I should ask, have you watched any shows on Apple+? If not, I suggest giving it a go. Most of the trailers do not do anything justice.

I watched Ted Lasso which was ok and Mythic Quest which is a horrible attempt at being funny by being cheesy. All other shows, non kids, plots are not for me except for Good Morning which maybe I should give a shot.

“To each his own” followed by “I don’t care for new content, and no one should.” Do you not see the hypocrisy?

not really, I said no one should care for new content I meant "no one should watch a show just because its new" . If you watch it just because its new... I just do not have words to describe the situation. IMO people should watch what they like or what they find what is worth while ... if they watch it just because its the "new" one .... idk

Would you read my novel just because its the newest one to get released today?

How can you possibly know if you refuse to watch it??????

If I have a complaint about this season, it’s that the conflicts seem to be resolved too quickly. The resolutions themselves are fine, but the way the show is edited, it’s resolve very quickly and doesn’t have the same effect

It seemed obvious that Jamie would return to the team. And the team wasn’t happy, especially Sam. But by the end of the next episode, it’s all worked out fine.

Which leads me to wonder

Now that Roy is a coach, how will Nate respond? Seems like Nate is worried. not that I think Nate will leave.

The reason everything is resolving so easily is that it puts psychological pressure on Ted. His entire persona is “the guy who helps people,” but he sees that he is needed less and less. That leaves him more and more to focus on his own personal problems.

The “conflict” that is not being resolved quickly is the conflict that you don‘t see coming - Ted’s own slow implosion.

How many times am I supposed to watch the Sopranos?

Well I didn't say DON'T watch it because its new, I said DON'T watch it JUST BECAUSE its new.

StarTrek NG, Sopranos, The Morning Show, BB, Money Heist, X-Files, Narcos, Mad Men, Full House...doesn't matter when it was released watch what you like.

Just once, but there are many older TV shows that people did not catch on and are great and better than some of the new shows. Some of those I did and others did not watch:

The Shield, DeadWood, Fraiser, Cheers, Stargate SG-1

I’ve watched all of those. Now may i watch new shows on Apple TV+?

(ps: Frasier and SG1 are overrated, and deadwood ended without wrapping things up, so it’s disappointing. Money Heist is bad. Full House is terrible.)

Really my comment was more about the writing of the show itself, and not the resolutions of the issues within the story.

in season one, episode one, we got to see how cruel and vindictive Rebecca was and the conflict for the viewer wasn’t resolved until episode 9. We see what an a** Rupert is in the 4th episode, and how Rebecca finally feels free in episode 8. We see Keely’s romantic feelings shift from Jamie to Roy and we understand why.

one of the best things about this show has been the setup and the payoffs. Nothing felt cheap or unearned and you could see the character development on screen in season one. Even Higgins, who was almost as bad as Rupert, by nature of his role in Rupert’s has a redeeming arc.

contrast that to my comments about this season. Something happens, and the next episode it seems resolved. I feel like season one writing would have told the story better of the journey from point A to point B rather than warping us from point to point.

And I’m not saying that every point of conflict needs to be thoroughly explained, but Spoiler 1 above, I think could have been more than half an episode.
