No need to delete. Launch the watch app on your iPhone, go to smart stack, media apps, turn off allow live activities.
Alternatively, in smart stack, turn off auto launch live activities.

That’s what I already had, live activities off. And still I had battery drain when in my car. It’s the only place I listen via Bluetooth and where that now playing app was launched on the watch when I used Spotify on my iPhone. (At home I have one Sonos speaker). Since I removed the app, no battery drain in my car anymore 🙂
I deleted Now Playing and still had a problem with Spotify. I had to uninstall the Spotify app too and that did the trick. Without Now Playing, the watch just loaded Spotify directly. Listened to a lot of music today and still at 8:30pm I still have 60% battery. Thanks for the help everyone.

Similar for me on my S10, around 12%
My 2-year old S4 with 83% battery health would lose 18%

Oh good that it worked! I deleted the Spotify app on the first day I had my watch after the app got installed automatically. On my phone Spotify drains my battery too, I listen directly via my sonos speaker at home because of that.
Mine is all over the place. Lost 20% sleep tracking on a 46mm a few nights ago where I only slept 6 hours!

Anybody upgrade from a series 7 and if so, notice a battery life improvement? My series 7 stated battery health is down to 80 percent and I can no longer make it thru the day without a recharge unless I'm very sedentary and not record any workouts. Tomorrow I am visiting Apple store to see about feasibility of having battery replaced which they tell me will cost $112. Very disappointed Apple has not increased the battery life and also they choose not to settle a lawsuit which I have to think they could, that removes the blood oxygen sensor feature. I charge the watch in the evening, between the evening meal and bedtime and when watch was new, I typically had 20-30% left at time of charging. I'm hoping if I have a battery change, it will be restored to that level.

Sounds about right. Replace the battery on year 3 and get the latest series on year 6. Good value for money.
The display and SoC are more energy efficient but they decreased the battery capacity to make the watch thinner. You might be able to get more out of an S10 than a new S7.
Apple will likely sick with '18hrs' as a target for a while.
Interesting after conflicting Apple phone tech support, I visited Apple store genius bar to see about feasibility of getting watch 7 battery service. He said they won't do it until diagnostics show it needs replacement. I asked if similar to I believe phone, if the battery life drops below 80 percent, will battery health check then say it needs servicing. He stated not necessarily, he has seen some battery watch health check in the low 70s percent and still state to be ok. He said, usually diagnostics won't fail until a sharp sudden drop, rather then a gradual, steady decline. Another conflicting statement when I asked if series 10 had still had blood oxygen sensor that could possibly be enabled if lawsuit settled, he said not, it's not even present on the watch. I thought non-USA series 10 watches still had the feature?
Per reports, non-USA S10 DO have SPO2, so I'm guessing the Apple person was wrong, and a software update could enable it.
As for battery life, I went from a S8 to this 46mm S10, and where I used to wake up and *maybe* have between 3-10% left (often I would wake up in the middle of the night and it would be asking me if I wanted to go to "power-saving", and I would worry my alarm wouldn't wake me, so it wasn't helpful, etc, blah blah), whereas now, with the S10, when I wake up it's at around 55-60% *LEFT*. So, I'm very happy with the battery. Now, I don't do a TON on my watch...it's always on with a display that has as many complications as possible and I usually use the GPS/workout mode for about 30-60 minutes per day in the AM after I've charged it back to 100%.
Apple Trade in is $100 for 3 year old watch. Replacement Battery is $100+. What would you recommend? Upgrade every 3 years or replace battery and upgrade every 5-6 years?

My Watch 10 bought a month ago in the USA has it .It is not enabled but it is there .

If it were me I would upgrade every 3 years mostly because there will most likely be a newer and better processor as well as some sort of new or improved sensors as well, i.e. blood pressure monitoring, in that time frame vs waiting 5-6 years. Technology can advance very quickly given the right circumstances.
Im doubting in getting an Apple Watch. I don’t ‘need’ it. But I guess it would be nice to see notifications and actually use my phone less.
I’m just concerned about the battery. I would hate to charge it every day. It’s another device I need to keep charged. Would also use it for sleep tracking, otherwise what’s the purpose of the vitals app. Charging is quicker on the 10, so charging it when showering should work i guess.

It charges quick enough that if I did wear it while sleeping it would be no problem getting it charged during the day. While showering is good, or have a charger near where you watch tv or near your computer and charge it while you’re watching tv or surfing web.

I use it daily and even use the cellular for 30-60min a few times a week but I always get through a day + sleep tracking. Usually charge it when I'm in the shower the next day which usually gets me back to 85%+ which is enough for another day.
Ultimately, this will be something you need to charge once a day. If you want something that lasts a day or two without charging, you'd need the Ultra.

My personal experience: disabled background app execution, around 60min of daily training no music. I charge it about 2 times every 3 days in average. Charge from low battery (around 10%) to 100% when I can. Usually one day before going to sleep, one day no charge, one day early afternoon. Pretty happy about it. My watch is new, let’s see how it gets along.

You forgot trade in value after 6 years.
The AW 10 will have a trade in of $100, AW 6yrs old I assume next to nothing.
So the numbers are much closer.
This is what I did.. I had a S3 then S7 and now S10 100% not worth it to upgrade each year.. and with my Cell+gps watch Im trying to get used to having to charge so much It almost feels like my S7 with its 80% battery health lol
