T-Mobile here as well - day 2 with Apple Watch - iMessage works but unable to make calls.

so, I set up my Tmobile LTE series 3 yesterday and it connected perfectly. It will not however make or receive calls or receive texts. It did send texts however.

I spoke with TMobile support for an hour and they say that everything is showing that it is set up correctly on their end and they have been getting lots of these calls today. they said I should just wait until Apple fixes the issue as Tmobile has no idea what’s going on.

Any advice or us anyone had similar issues here? I tested it all over town and away from any WiFi spots etc.

Thanks in advance.
[doublepost=1506221575][/doublepost]I meant to add: when I try to place a call from the watch when it is away from the phone and has a cell signal showing it just says call ended or call failed. Over and over.

Thank God it's not only me. I was thinking at least we don't have the activation issues AT&T has... but I can't receive/make calls via the watch on LTE alone. It does send texts though (iMessage and SMS) and data seems to work fine.

I called both T-Mobile and Apple and both are stumped. Hopefully if enough of us call in, they'll find the problem and fix it

Adding to everyone else. Just called T-Mobile and Apple, and both are stumped. With everything off except for LTE on the Watch, I can use data and I can also send SMS and iMessage..... I can not send or receive voice calls though. Just beeps three times and says "Call Ended". This is with 4 bars of LTE strength.

Add me to the list. Same issue. I can send a text but can't receive nor can I make or receive a call. Just says call ended or call failed over and over. Spoke with TMobile for over an hour. The head support guy said they have been getting tons of calls but they have no idea what's going on. Is it me or is this kinda crazy?

On my T-Mobile account the new line comes up as a LTE hotspot. My guess is that the line isn’t provisioned correctly because cellular data works on my Apple Watch but not talk or text.

It's a widespread issue according to the T-Mobile tech support and I'm having issues as well. I can send iMessage but no calls or SMS; hopefully they can get it all together and fix it ASAP.

When my Watch eventually arrives, if it has that problem, it’s going right back to Apple and I’ll tell them I want my money back.

A few others and myself on the T-Mobile board were able to get our phone calls working after doing the following. I went to the Watch app on the iPhone and then selected the Cellular row. I then pressed the T-Mobile row right under the Cellular Plan heading. On the bottom a menu popped up and I pressed Remove T-Mobile Plan. I then restarted the connection process and it worked. I then called T-Mobile to tell them this worked for others and myself. I hope they passed on the message.

To me this was not an Apple issue. it was not the activation issue other threads have discussed. It was simply a Digits reconnection matter.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I could buy you a drink if I could haha. This one worked for me as well, thanks again @B720 !

This didn't affect your service plan and 3 free months?

It did not affect my plan. I had the same apprehension originally which is why I held off from doing it earlier in the day.

Are you activating a new line? I removed the T-Mobile plan then reconnected using the same line and it didn’t work.

Here’s where things stand on my end.

1) Like most of you, I can’t make calls. I can, however, receive them.

2) If my phone DOES NOT have any sort of connection to T-Mobile I can’t text via SMS by sending or receiving. If it’s connected and my watch is away from the phone, texting DOES work at that point.

3) All data works fine whether it’s connected to the phone, away from the phone, or if the phone is on airplane mode.

I’m going to try the method offered by B720 and Wilmington let you all know where things stand.

Good luck! Please let us know if that works for you. Macjones asked if it you had to choose activate new line or what? He said doing the same line didn't work for him.

I tried a few different tests after following the instructions provided by B720....

1) Phone On AIRPLANE mode. No signal to the phone, LTE signal to the Watch:

CONCLUSION... Phone calls worked great in both receiving and sending. iMessage and Data worked as expected. SMS messaging both to and from DID NOT work on the Watch.

2) Phone On LTE Connection. Watch on LTE connection. Bluetooth off the phone indicating no shared connection to each other.

CONCLUSION... Phone calls worked great both in receiving and sending to the Watch. iMessage and Data worked as expected. SMS messaging came ALIVE during this stage of testing. I could send and receive texts. No problem.

3) Full connection between phone and Watch.

CONCLUSION... everything worked fine.

Final Thought... the only time there is really an issue is when the phone doesn’t have reception or has no signal. You will NOT be able to receive or send SMS messages on your watch according to these conclusions found. If the phone and watch have LTE even on separate connections you are doing fine.

What about WiFi... simply put. I don’t know. I haven’t had time to test this or try it out. I’m guessing that iMessage and Data won’t matter. I don’t know if SMS messaging will work over WiFi connections to the Watch with it separated from the phone or not. I also don’t know if you can have a phone call over WiFi (non FaceTime audio) with the watch or not. This probably needs to be tested. My test was only with LTE situations.

Let me know if anyone does any work with testing on WiFi on this. I’m glad I can get phone calls without the phone nearby or having a signal. It’s working for me. SMS doesn’t if the phone doesn’t have a signal. If it does and is away from the Watch, the signal on the Watch will work for the SMS.
[doublepost=1506253242][/doublepost]One other note, like B720, my T-Mobile plan is completely in tact.

Great news and thanks for that update! @MacJones asked this question: "Are you activating a new line? I removed the T-Mobile plan then reconnected using the same line and it didn’t work."

Thoughts on that?
