Great news and thanks for that update! @MacJones asked this question: "Are you activating a new line? I removed the T-Mobile plan then reconnected using the same line and it didn’t work."

Thoughts on that?

Should have clarified, I just took over and restored the line.

I said use existing line. Didn’t want to lose my promo 3 months
OK I just did it as well. Used the same line when I redid it and I was able to make my first call! So it worked. BUT, a moment after I made the first call it went back to my home wifi and turned cellular off. Any ideas?

Well, even though I am back on wifi with no cell bubbles shown I tried to make a call and it went through anyway...

To get rid of the WiFi stuff what I did before my testing was to reset network settings on my phone. It ran specifically everything via LTE in my house then.

I made sure to forget the WiFi my iPhone was on, don’t ask to join new WiFi networks, and then turn off WiFi and Bluetooth on the phone. This forces the Watch to use LTE. Right now there’s a bug with the Watch that it prefers to only use WiFi if you don’t force it not to. It’s stayed on cellular for me doing those things.

Oh yes I had read about that bug. So, what we are doing is just leaving wifi off and using cellular data until apple pushes a fix. OK, will do. Great work from the community for discovering this fix! It was great to make my first call from the watch! Thanks!

A few others and myself on the T-Mobile board were able to get our phone calls working after doing the following. I went to the Watch app on the iPhone and then selected the Cellular row. I then pressed the T-Mobile row right under the Cellular Plan heading. On the bottom a menu popped up and I pressed Remove T-Mobile Plan. I then restarted the connection process and it worked. I then called T-Mobile to tell them this worked for others and myself. I hope they passed on the message.

To me this was not an Apple issue. it was not the activation issue other threads have discussed. It was simply a Digits reconnection matter.

Confirmed!!!! This worked for me! Thanks for the info!!!!

I left my iPhone at home powered on with an LTE connection. The Apple Watch was able to make and receive calls however it still couldn’t iMessage or SMS. I’m not sure why iMessage doesn’t work because I’m able to use other LTE functions.

It appears that the Apple Watch is not fully stand alone because when my iPhone is powered off the Apple Watch can’t call.

After removing the service and adding it back i can make a call but not receive one. Messaging and google maps seem to work as well. Apple support assured me they are working the issue.

day 2 and this still isn't working. i have wifi calling activated on my iphone, and still get call failed on my watch. iMessages are sent no problem. I hope T-Mobile gives us an extension on the promo for the days this isn't working! mega frustrating!
Keep track of the # of days with issues and non functionality. Take it to T-Mobile and ask for 6 month extension lol

Just an update for everyone having issues. I tried the fix that was discussed and it worked as I stated this morning. I left my phone at home all day (powered on) and I was able to place and receive calls and send and receive imessages and send sms. not sure about receive sms. Mail worked as did apple maps and siri. It was amazing being able to do all of that without having to bring my phone everywhere today.

So today, Day 4 I didn’t do anything different, did not disconnect and reconnect and I could send and receive calls. I think it was a t-mobile issue.

I’m in San Francisco. Everything else continued to work fine.

Finally got a call to go through without making any changes. San Francisco area.

I know this is a T Mobile user thread but I’m having an issue with Verizon as well. Yesterday I saw the bars on my watch, but today I don’t see them anymore. I tried making a phone call with my watch even though the bars weren’t there and my phone was off and it worked. But aren’t the LTE always supposed to appear on the watch?

Yes, on the explorer face. Or you can swipe up and check left upper corner for 4 circles.

still cant send imessage or sms, or receive some data notifications, are you only suppose to receive notifications from apps internally installed? I can receive and send calls but just the messaging and stuff. I tried the other night to remove the plan then re-add it when i went to restore the watch, and sure enough it errored out. clicked retry on the app and it ended up making a SECOND digits line with a new phone number, making me not able to connect to my original anymore. Ended up having to have T Force cancel out the old line :/

Tried B720's fix. Unfortunately, once I remove the cellular settings from the watch, I can not get through the setup again as the T-Mobile page just sits spinning at "Please Wait". The only way to get things working again is to get T-Force to remove the old watch line and then go through the full signup process.

This is a cluster of a launch...still no inbound/outbound calls.

I believe some apps will only work if they were made stand alone. For example, I opened Instagram when my watch was stand alone, and it displayed a red phone icon; so I'm assuming that app only works with a phone nearby. Only maps, siri, messaging are so far that I tried with success on the LTE watch when stand alone.
