I think it’s great for fitness, hope you’ll find it equally useful. I love being able to track my exercise at the gym, whilst streaming Apple Music to my AirPods, answer the occasional SMS/calls all without needing the distraction of my phone while working out. I just leave my phone at home now when going to the gym/for a run.

When I first got one, the ability to glance at notifications and deciding that it’s not important enough to take out my phone is probably one of the best benefits of the watch for me. That and Apple Pay on the wrist :D

Which S4 model did you go for?

I wasn’t sure which to get  so I just went with the first option that stood out to me:

Apple Watch Series 4 GPS, 40mm Silver Aluminium Case with White Sport Band

All I knew is I’d prefer a smaller screen of the two options. I don’t want a big tablet on my wrist. I’m sure it’ll be fine. Very excited!

I couldn't agree with this more. Since I got my Apple Watch and started to Close My Rings everyday I have lost 13 pounds and am in excellent shape now. Call it what you will, but it was a good motivator for me and it has literally changed my life.

And this is what Apple Watch the Apple Watch needs to be. Apple wants the Watch to be a fitness device that helps motivate you and change the way you do things, and the watch is a reminder and a fitness tracker. I know there are other smart watches that are similar, but the way the Apple Watch integrates with your iPhone and communicates to you, it really changes your aspect on how you look at your life in terms of what you need to improve upon.

I remember when the Apple Watch first started, it was all about being a notification device and a side fitness tracker. Now, it’s touted as being a fitness tracker first and everything else is secondary.

That's awesome.

I lost 125 pounds myself and my Fitbit was a huge part of that for a lot of reasons. My Watch is going to help me keep maintaining that and to get in even better shape.

Congrats on what you've accomplished.

I’ve ordered mine and there’s a four week waiting period

I was gonna buy an S2 for a great price from a friend of a friend, but then the doughnut smashed it the day before I was meant to get it. Cash was transferred and everything — he just had to, you know, not smash it. :(

I was never interested in the Apple Watch before, but the price on their S2 was too good to refuse (worst case I could resell it). As such I desperately researched everything about it and planned how I was going to use it to make sure I got the most out of it.

Now that I’ve had that taken away from me and my aspirations ripped like a bairn from its mother’s teet, I can’t not have an Apple Watch. So here I am, waiting desperately for a product I never knew I wanted. Weird how things work out huh.
There is a 4-5 weeks wait for online Apple Store in my city but I suddenly caught an in-store pick up stock when I randomly checked availability on Friday.. So I’m happily with my new S4 now. Amazing product. Love it so much.
