I have just finished a clean install of OS X 10.11.6 (El Cap) and macOS 10.12 Beta 4 (Sierra) on my MacBook Pro. While using Safari on Sierra I realized that whenever I want to save a Bookmark Safari will just allow me to save it to the Favorites folder or any other folder I create myself but not the regular Bookmarks folder itself. On El Cap the issue doesn't exist - as you can see from the two comparison shots I attached below: Safari 9.1.2 (11601.7.7) on El Cap: Safari 10.0 (12602.1.43) on Sierra: I removed the Test folder here before taking a screenshot - otherwise it would have shown up. I first thought it was a bug and tried to delete all bookmarks / delete the Bookmarks.plist in the Safari folder in Library - both while having iCloud Sync for Safari enabled / disabled. But the situation remains. I also tested the latest Technology Preview of Safari on Sierra and it has the exact same behavior. Can someone please have a look her/himself and confirm if this is common behavior with Safari 10 on Sierra. Your help is much appreciated since googleing for the issue basically brought up nothing. Thank you!
