When is the horrible flickering on Safari's fullscreen video streaming/video playback going to be fixed? This started NOT after I installed Safari 11 in macOS Sierra but after I "upgraded" to macOS High Sierra.

I don't have that problem

I just uninstalled every extension from Safari. Closed Safari & then restarted my iMac. Tested various webpages. Unfortunately, arrows still missing, Likes & retweets not tweeting, various elements from Library/Overdrive still missing.
But I do see ads now. Bangs head on desk.
You are not alone, I also got this issue. Aprox. 10% of websites load incorrectly and I can't revert back to Safari 10.
Funny thing that the same sites open without any issues on my test Sierra & High Sierra. Looks like Apple forces us to upgrade.

UPD: Tried installing the latest 11.0.1 developers beta - same bug.

Here's what happened after my problem with Safari 11:

I reinstalled MacOS Sierra again using a freshly made USB installer, not a clean install, and the odd thing was that it reinstalled Safari 10.~ ---Which you'd think was great, right? Unfortunately no, the exact same Safari problems persisted because websites weren't loading or functioning as normal.

It's been over a week or two since I fixed the problem & now I have different Sierra issues o_O (TimeMachine, Photos, etc. grrrr!) to deal with, so I don't remember exactly all the stuff I tried. BUT apparently some Safari Preference setting involving web cookies changed in my initial Sierra update & persisted in the reversion. I unchecked the box & everything worked again. Yay! It's odd because I'm sure I tried this when Safari 11 was still installed, I definitely went through all the Preference settings checking everything that might have gone wonky. AND I installed Vivaldi web browser to test it, and the same problems occurred in that too.

I'm still using the Safari 10.1.2 version from the Sierra USB reinstall & am NOT going to update to Safari 11 for a while, including any other updates like iTunes, etc., until I work through the other Sierra bugs on my iMac. Really irritating as I did the Sierra update from Mavericks on August 1st!

I hope this cookie toggle works for you!

I was able to revert to Safari 10.1.2 but I had to use Pacifist to restore Safari from one of the combo updates and then things went completely wrong and I ended up with a El Capitan reinstall (not a clean install but it took about 2 hours for unknown reason).
So far so good.

Hi guys, I am totally stuck.

Sierra 10.12.6

safari 11.0

I can simply no longer play ANY video on any twitter page... not embedded youtube or the standard inline twitter videos where play/volume/pause used to appear.

I have disabled all content blocking and enabled autoplay for everything.. I have even enabled all cookies setting and disabled plugin power saving. I have no idea what is going on..

The same has happened to me in the latest chrome

firefox works fine and is the only way i can currently view twitter videos whatsoever

i am so confused.. does anyone know if it's a bug with safari 11?
