Many crashes for me as well.
4.01 on a new 13,3 MBP.
Most of the times it´s flash that kills it.
The problem is that Finder seems to be affected to by Safari crashing.
For the time beeing I´ll stick to FF 3.5 hoping that an update to ACE Safari Foxdie will be released shortly.
have you tried any of the themes here?
I think it's most likely that Flash is behind this. My brand new 15" uMBP locks up constantly when I use Safari (which is like 24/7). Just head over to Adobe.com and re-install the latest Flash package. I'm going to try that and head back here to report my results.
Have you tried ClickToFlash? When Safari worked for me, I found this helped a lot http://github.com/rentzsch/clicktoflash/tree/master
Nope, but the problem isn't Safari. Or Flash. It's Transmission the bittorent client. I'm downloading 10 Linux distros for a demo at school which amounts to about 25GB. Every time my system locks up, it's Transmission that freezes before everything else. And IT LEAKS MEMORY like hell.
I ended up doing an archive install on my MBP Tiger which cleared up Safari 4 problems with bookmarks (was advised by apple).
It won't play Quick Time videos like Safari 3 did. I get a message stating they aren't movies. When I covert them to WMP which takes a little time they are indeed movies. I even talked to apple, & the tech tried to wiggle out of it by stating they came from a PC. I told him it makes no sense that Safari 3 played 100% of QT videos before (from PCs) and Safari 4 plays 0%. He didn't have an answer for that. Does anyone have suggestions for this?
Donna
I suggest you don't have more than 5 parallel torrent downloads.
