For the second time in as many days, Safari 5.1 spontaneously reloaded all my tabs, thereby unceremoniously deleting the text I had entered into a text box. Looks like I'll be using Chrome until this gets sorted out...

Anyone else encounter this problem?

That's what Safari on the iPhone/iPad does...welcome to iOS Lion.

It's currently a beach [ball] party in my case. Quite random as well. I never know what will cause it next, whether it's selecting a text field or reloading a tab.

I like the new tab behaviour and the back/forward gestures, though.

EDIT: Wait, I seem to lose the x-close button on tabs. All the time. Anyone else experiencing this?

Safari can't block cookies

I upgraded to 10.6.8 and kept old Safari 5.0.5 and found that cookies weren't being blocked, despite being set to Always Block.
"Upgraded" safari to 5.1 to find the same bug! Despite these upgrades allegedly being "more secure"! How can not blocking cookies enhance security?
So now using Firefox.
Cookies can possibly be used to discover passwords etc.
"Safari Cookies" app. v1.8 also didn't work with 5.0.5 so uninstalled.

The same dev. that makes Safari Cookies sells a stand alone app called Cookies that works well and supports Safari, Firefox and Chrome. It is $14.99 in the app store. I prefer it over some of the plugins as it does require SIMBL.

A follow-up to this: As I understand it, the *feature* is that tabs you leave open but don't go to for a while will reload when you go back to them. But what I'm encountering seems to be a *bug*; when the Safari Web Content process unexpectedly quits, all the tabs and windows I have open spontaneously reload all at once. No warning, nothing.

Yeah I was getting automatic tab reloads and my pdf plugin of choice was crashing a lot. I downgraded to 5.0.5 and all is well again. Definitely not one of Apples better updates.
