All I see is blue bar across the top... Very slow.

I can't believe I can't add my own custom search providers to safari. I like to type tickers into yahoo finance, wikipedia, youtube, etc. Used a mac for over a year sometimes I feel like I am I still doing things the windoze way?? Is the mac way to visit the webpage first and then type into search box?

Dumbest software move Apple has made with Safari so far--this was a feature of the Safari 4 beta and they took it out in the final, not even an option for it. Bah!

Tabs on top made moving and selecting windows hazardous (very easy to close a tab by accident) and broke many UI and usability conventions. The implementation also left much to be desired. I'm glad they reverted to tabs below.

Doesn't have the promised refresh button. Other than that, I've liked Safari 5.

Promised? By whom/when/where? Besides, there is a button, it's just integrated to the address bar. Personally, I use CMD-R, much faster than the mouse.

Has anyone figured out how to disable the URL suggestions from history? I'm used to quickly typing in a few letters and hitting enter on the keyboard to get to my bookmarked sites, but now I'm confronted with keywords found in my history instead. Totally annoying.

I've had 2 crashes so far, flash related. I noticed the blue have at the bottom, not certain why that's needed? Style?:) The extensions will be a great plus.

It is running slower than the older version on both my iMac 27" i7 & MacbookPro 15" i7

Definitely not a DSL issue it is the browser at least in this case. Hopefully they come up with a patch soon!

I like the reader function and the return of the blue loading bar in the address field.

I find the new address bar incredible useful, now searching your history is easier with the new bar.

There was an update for v4.01 for tiger users...

Now, it does everything a little bit worse. Sometimes it runs tip top for several minutes. But after a short while, it hangs, beachballs, won't load a page, and sometimes won't allow you to close a tab or window. Great way to kill tiger I guess. I have snow leopard but was holding off the install until they get more bugs/compatibility issues resolved. I really wish I hadn't updated. It's a nightmare now to surf.

Extensions give me hope that eventually Safari will be on the same level as Firefox. It's already faster, that's not the question, but featurewise it's not as good. Even something simple like being able to fill in the www. and .com or .net or .org with a shortcut key is missing.

Hopefully addons like Glims etc will be ported to add functionality.

Loaded yesterday and horribly slow on my wireless network at home. Re-installed, cleared everything, reset Safari etc etc. Painful. Now running it at office on LAN and it runs fine, so tonight will delete wireless connection and start from scratch on that connection, hoping for miracles.

Firefox ran fine on the wireless connection, so something in Safari 5 is causing problems.

Just used Reader for the first "real" time (not just trying it, but actually reading something).

Great, great feature.

I want tabs on top! At least as an option, require manual modification of some config file to enable it, but please, make it an option!
