im a web dev, which means my demands might be a little atypical ;)

Generally:
Firefox when developing
Safari + SafariStand generally - it's much faster
Quicksilver to launch searches and pull up bookmarks in either
Opera 9 on windows

also, give Camino a shot. It's a Mac-specific version of Firefox.

They just made new release with some much-desired features.

You can also find some special performance-oriented Mac builds of Camino and Firefox from time to time. This helps offset some of the pain of Firefox's speed problem. I've been told the FasterFox plugin does wonders for some. I haven't tried it on Mac.

Also, i find certain plugins (flash, divx, etc) tend to cause more Firefox crashes than safari crashes.

Just use both, find out Firefox is a resource hog and stick with Safari.

Yeah, it's such a resource hog that my World Clock Widget uses more processing power:rolleyes: And I have plenty of plugins installed and it has never crashed on me once ever since I installed it years (and upgraded everything several times) ago.

@OP There's been way too many threads about this to post another, and you "SHOULD" be trying out both and deciding for yourself, and you should also be aware that you're asking this question on a Mac forum.
