Have to install add-ons just to make an app as it should have been from the beginning? >_>

what should have been? I didn't have a problem with it, you have, im pointing out a solution for you as an individual, doesn't mean I agree with you its a problem in any fashion for significant number of users.

close tab icon on the right bothers huge number of users? is that what you trying to say? I don't think so.

I use mice gestures all the time, i drag my mice down half of inch to close the tab, if thats important to you.

Eh. I used Chrome for about a week on my Windows machine at work. Tried to like it. Tried real hard, but just couldn't. My biggest thing (outside of the annoying bugs) is I hate that hideous blue UI. I just can't get past it. I'll try the Mac version when it comes out, but I'm not all that hopeful.

I prefer Safari on my Macbook, but FF closed the gap a bit (for me) with 3.5. It's very smooth and really improved in the rendering font dept - and it's plenty fast. I'm using it as much as I ever have.

I'm just talking about it from a pure performance perspective and not design although I think it handles tabs on top far better than the Safari 4 beta builds did. You can try it out yourself. Word is out that Google is supposedly planning to release a ton of themes for Chrome soon so you may find something you like. Just do a search for Chromium nightly builds. I've never seen an app load that quickly and it's ever so slightly faster in browsing over Safari.

I may not use Chrome when it comes out but it's a great browser.

Firefox

I was a Safari user until version 4 was released. I found Safari 4 so bad that I switched to Firefox 3.5x and now use it exclusively.

these extra pixels mean the world for me.

and so do these icons. (and some in the status bar that I hide by default)

So it's Firefox all the way.

toolbar

until safari gets google toolbar (i use reader and all that stuff) it will be firefox for me for awhile

Firefox has the preference "Open new windows in a new tab instead" and the extension LastTab. These two small things make Firefox superior to Safari for me.

I am new to Macs, so i dont know if i missed a setting, want to use Safari, but had to switch to FF because i am a Mod for a Group and copy/paste allot of images, and with safari when i paste everything is in code :(

I really really like safari but it takes a lot of RAM, so when I'm doing a lot of things I use Firefox
