Safari: Virus scan pop-up malware – how to block?

I keep getting these pop-ups, even though I have completely cleared and erased all of my Safari settings and data through the Settings app.

It doesn't seem to be with any particular website, either. I'm not sure what the sources.

What's the best way to purge this and prevent it?

If you aren't using an adblocker, (like Adguard) install one. That will take care of 98-99% of the popup problems.
