Lol... Because Apple's Face ID was not a fiasco also. Days when iPhone were not a glitch show are long gone. And people still pqy 1K for them

Do not get a screen protector till the patch or use a different unlock option.

Here I was just saying in another thread to not automatically equate innovation with success... good grief Samsung. I love your TVs, even have your appliances (they are okay, package when we bought the house), but if I ever returned to Android, your smartphones would be a hard pass.

That sucks... I hope it isn't an indictment of placing it under the screen as a whole.

Separately... why the hell do people use screen protectors anyway? They're beyond useless, feel strange, break so easily that people try to justify owning one with them, and look awful.

I find that anything Samsung does appliance-wise, LG does better. I went with the LG TV but they're really close.

Yeah, I can't imagine that lasting too much longer if Samsung keeps screwing up
because of lack of testing. the old bio good this is in screen issue. Apple for phone nor computer abit slow compare to android but to make perfect scenario take time. Like 5g even if apple delay the market not even fullly can use. Asian market 3rd world country will much faster adoption compare 1st world country on tech

Samsung users complained of having to walk around to the other side of the phone to use the fingerprint sensor. And some of them got lost along the way.
i do annoy trend at the back fingerprint compare to my old 5s. So that the most reason we want apple se 2

Just imagine if you could just buy some cheap screen protector and stick on the front of the latest iPhones to unlock it... just imagine how much melt down there would be around the world.. it would be like the apocalypse out here! It's amazing how much you get a way with when you're not the leader... I suppose being no.1 means unreasonable hatred ALL the time.

Apple would be destroyed. Forbes would have a title like "Apple had to be doing this on purpose". People on here would try to figure out how to resurrect Steve Jobs.

It's Samsung. Galaxy devices are really nice but they're not particularly inspiring. I'll stick with iPhone.

I haven’t seen this explicitly mentioned, but does this mean that if you lose your phone someone can empty your bank account?

"The sensor relies on ultrasound to detect the microscopic ridges that make every fingerprint unique."

So if you cover the sensor with a screen protector, your fingerprint suddenly becomes a Master Key?

Yes, and that someone may be yourself, considering the cost of a new phone. 🤣

Samsung’s quality control has gone downhill. They don’t innovate anymore. All they care about is making a lot of money. They can’t be trusted. Their executives are a bunch of hypocrites. This never would have happened under Lee Byung-chul. Remember the good old days of Lee Byung-chul?

Edit: Mods, this is irony relevant to the op.

Can't wait for this thread to become yet another echo chamber full with people who prefer Touch ID to Face ID because having to put your finger in a certain place on the phone is somehow more convenient than having to do nothing.

For the record, my persistence disdain with FaceID is that I do motorcycle touring to the tune of 12K+ miles a year and had to go back to a 4-digit passcode because while my gloves work with TouchID & the touch screen, my helmet does not work with FaceID so when I need to do anything I used to be able to unlock but now I have to stop and remove my helmet or type in a passcode. this has been going on with me for 3 years and I hate it every time.

wow, major f-up. Almost like when relatives who resemble you can unlock iPhones with face-ID, or when taped-up glasses unlock face-ID, or when masks unlock face-ID etc. etc. The morale of the whole debacle: phones are NOT SECURE. They're not a safe place to keep your personal crap. Face-ID seems to be slightly more secure than Samsung's crappy (it's crappy without the security info already) in-screen fingerprint solution, but let's not kid ourselves here: none of that alleged super-secure login crap is super-secure, no matter the manufacturer.

While I can't personally confirm the Note 10 problem (tried with 3 different silicone cases), it's shameful that a company like Samsung manages to f-up that badly. Time to re-introduce their iris-scanning tech, which was slow but secure.
Silicone cases? Or screen protectors? Might want to reread that.

Samsung wouldn’t have been my kitchen appliance choice, but the package was already installed when we first looked at the house we decided to buy. Almost 4 years and so far no issues. The refrigerator is sometimes unnecessarily noisy when making ice though. Now the very basic Whirlpool washer and dryer we currently have will soon be replaced with LG front loads.

We’re actually Sony when it comes to our TVs, but we have a Samsung TV in the man cave that my husband (and sometimes me) games on. I just love the colors and saturation it produces. Haven’t been TV shopping in a while though to see where brands rank currently.

Do people really still think Samsung makes good phones, after the fold i can’t trust them

My work phone is a Galaxy S10e (paid for by my employer) and it is a very good phone. That being said, the security issues with using Android and Google services are very real. As long as you understand that you are sacrificing massive amounts of privacy and that your device is less secure, then they make good phones.

Except none of those “hacks” regarding FaceID are true. They’ve all been debunked.
