The S6 edge is a gorgeous phone with tremendous features. Hands down the best phone Samsung has ever made, maybe, if the battery life can handle the quad screen. If I didn't have an Iphone 6 I would probably buy one.

Happy with all the choices, I will buy a Nexus or HTC (or maybe Nokia with an Android), never a Shamesung, over my dead body!

Doubt it will sway many people from the iPhone but it sure beat out the HTC M9 on day one.

Yeah HTC has so much potential but they seem to be slacking. Now I'm curious about the LG G4 now, the S6 really set the bar high.

Going to replace my phone this September, I was set on getting the iPhone again but now the S6 is making me doubt.

The real question is will this iPhone 6 copy be enough to save samsung's floundering smartphone business?

I personally don't think so but hey, copying the iPhone got them in the door in the first place. Might as well go back to what works in order to try to save their business.

Because more megapixels = better..?

Can you give me another Samsung device that is more alike? Seriously.
You can't deny, these are VERY similar;

But to be fair - how big is "the box" which we can think outside of?
Ativ s, a line . are you saying you know every Samsung model ?

Sorry, this is false. Apple Pay works anywhere there's NFC, regardless of if the Apple Pay logo is stamped on the terminal or not.

Sure, but as the graphic pointed out, NFC is only available at 3% (220K) of US retail locations right now, whereas magswipe is available at 90% (10 million).

In five or ten years that ratio will have swapped, but in the meantime, magswipe support will be handy in the US and some other places around the world.

For instance, it should work even at those big retailers who've turned off NFC.

It can also use NFC. Magnetic stripes are not safe, that's true but it is the best in terms of compability.

"MasterCard says its transactions going through Samsung Pay will create unique tokens whether you're using an NFC terminal or a magnetic card reader. "

I guess only time will tell but battery tech has moved on

Tesla use a fast charge in their cars, they wouldnt use it if it would be at the detriment of the life cycle, time will tell

I'm not sure even Tesla would agree 100% with you, especially if charging in a hot climate (Over 85F). Cooling is crucial to battery longevity.

Heat dispersal is crucial to a fast charge in current lithium batteries (there are other tech that would make that less of an issue in the near future). Not sure how Samsung handled it here.

So, if you charge mostly in a controlled temp area and you're phone is not enclosed, or on a soft surface, charging fast may not be too much of an issue, up to a point. If you phone becomes very hot when charging, well it will be an issue...

Another issue is discharge depth (going to 0% often, that's why phones are shut down when approaching zero) and over 100% charging (this is bad and most phone batteries indicating 100% are in fact not really at 100% to prevent this). A fast charge from 10% will create much less damage to the battery, than a fast charge from zero.

Another thing that has impact on battery durability is discharge rate. In cars seemingly discharge rate and battery usage (how long, how you drive your EV car) has more impact on battery life than charging rate.

Playing fps shooter/racing video games on your phones in hot weather (especially while charging) will certainly make your battery last less than using it for web browsing, or taking calls in cool weather.

But, hey its only a phone, lets replace the battery for $30-40 bucks when its dead. That's what I do.

PS: The Iphone 6 with the Ipad charger is not really a slow poke at about 2h (0-100%). Most people aren't at 0%, so you're looking at charging times in the 100-90 minute range if your phone is used heavily.

If the curved display can eliminate thick pillar-like side bezels, why not? There's always something good even in the worst of things - it depends on the beholder.

Oh I'm sure a curved display is a great idea when 99.9% of us use cases.

Samsung literally throws everything against a wall to see what sticks. This simply won't.

This is really sad, they stopped the apple bashing commercials after the iphone 6 release and went into a coma only to come back to life with this ripoff? Wow.

The Galaxy S6 hardware looks very good.

Now it just needs one more feature before I will buy one: IOS.

You would sell your Note 4 because of that? (Not that I believe you when you say you own one)

I think you put too much emotions towards your tech.

1: I do own a Note 4, not that I have to "prove" anything to you, I gladly can/will if you just absolutely must have proof.

2: I was joking, mostly.

Point was: I am just not happy about a company that publicly says something, makes commercials making fun of another companies customers, then making a product that goes against quite a few things they talked about in those commercials.

That's up to the case makers to be creative like they did with the Note Edge.

Come on, quoting business insider... Really... Man, nobody should ever do that : 99% of their links are pure click bait.

No SD slot and no removable battery. Now a lot of people will just buy iPhones.
I guess while it was an option previously nobody actually bothered to use it. I know people with Samsung phones who just use them 'out the box', well because, that is what 99% of all phone users doing. It's the geeks that do stuff with that, and there are only a handful, not the real market to cater for.

I alway said that if Apple could supply phones with Sim card fixed in they would do that. Anything the user changes he can mess up.

Huh? Snap! Keep telling yourself that. Not even for a BOGO or buy one, get two free. Avoid like a plague.

Hey you're the one that said it. I'm just repeating it for you to show you how creepy that sounds.

Remember, it's just a phone...
