More doesn't always mean better but Pixel Wars make for good marketing.
Samsung has used their last card now, as you said there is a limit to what constitutes a good camera with ramping up a sensors megapixels. All that does is make too much memory being used to process imagery. A Canon EOS R6 uses a 24.2 megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor. How big is the sensor in the Samsung? Pretty tiny. Lens the same. Apple needs to work on just improving their existing 48 MB system instead of this ridiculous my sensor has more megapixels. Keep enlarging the various lens a bit.

It's crazy to think the original iPhone (2007) had only 2 Mega Pixel Camera. How times have changed!

All three devices feature AMOLED displays with 120Hz refresh rates

I wonder how much longer Apple is going to eke that out. Ever since the 13 Pro every 60Hz display looks broken, especially on other Apple devices where there is a direct comparison.

Also, storage doesn't appear to be mentioned at all in the article. The $800 base model S3 comes with 128GB storage, and the other two have 256GB base storage. It's time for Apple's "Pro" phones to start at 256GB storage.

Kind of sad when Samsung's lineup makes more sense right now than Apple's. Smaller, medium, large. Mostly the same except for features that obviously need more space. Not holding out on table stakes features just to force people to upgrade.

Come on Apple, you can do it. I don't want a Samsung phone.

In double blind tests the iPhone performs regularly quite badly, definitely worse than Samsung or pixel phones. At this point picture quality is definitely not iPhone strongest suit.
I don't have any real interest in either, but as a professional photographer more curious where the technology is heading.

There's a reason that lower pixel count DSLR or Mirrorless cameras capture higher quality photographs.

Not only too much memory. The smaller the pixel, the better the resolving power the lens has to have to give the same image quality. I doubt the 1 gram of glass costing 3 cents in this samesing is going to have better resolving power than a thousand dollar Canon lens with over a pound of glass in it.

And this image is to display on a 1 megapixel screen. Even an 8x10 print doesn't need more than 10 megapixels. It's a meaningless non-feature.

Back when, MP count was all anyone cared about. Then post processing took over and explaining why one camera is better than another gets technical pretty quickly. As a photographer you understand that the camera is only one element of a good picture.

So silly it’s impossible to get 200mp from a camera phone lens the higher mp doesn’t mean better quality I am a photographer and my dslr is 22 and has a huge sensor
Sensor size should always be mentioned alongside megapixel count. Then we can see immediately if they are trash pixels or not.

Almost $1400 for this slab phone? Nah, I will keep my Z Fold 4 512GB and be happy that I paid $1800 for a phone and mini tablet in one device. Actually I paid $1627 after discounts. If I were to buy a slab phone (never again), I'd go back to iPhone without question.
