What size is that M7 monitor? 4K is a measure of the total number of pixels. If you know that and know the size, you can infer the DPI from that. Any 27" or 32" monitor that's only using 4K worth of pixels is going to look crappier. What is the DPI on the new M8? I purchased the lower cost M7 last year and the screen was so bad I could literally see the gridlines on the physical screen and individual pixels, it looked like a $50 monitor from 2003 despite being 4k. Is the M8 a decent DPI?
Studio Display: 600 nits, 5KHDR but only with 400 nits of brightness, no thanks!
Took me several seconds to realie that it wasn't I who posted that because of the avatar.60Hz 🤣
I read the text of the press release. Nowhere does it mention vesaDid you read the text? These models support VESA mount.
4K 27” looks like absolute garbage on MacOS due to the way MacOS handles scaling. 27” requires 5K for integer scaling.
I wish Apple would improve their scaling or manufacturers would make 5K displays. Sadly, neither of these things ever seem to happen.
Funny - you got the same pic (i got it from the inet). About the Monitor; 60Hz-Days are over (my first Monitor in the 90s had already 75Hz...) If i woul'd game, i probably had one w/ 240Hz, but 120Hz are the minimum. Better for the eyes and moving content like scrolling or movies works like a charm. My favorite is a (top-of-the-line) Samsung QLed-TV. 4-8K@120Hz. I work with 55". Nice ;-)Took me several seconds to realie that it wasn't I who posted that because of the avatar.
I agree that 60 Hz is a bit slow and at least 120 Hz is nice even if gaming isn't the main thing the display is used for.
Okay, but even in this press release you can find below the table of specifications with support of 100x100 Wall mount for all models.I read the text of the press release. Nowhere does it mention vesa
I was simply referring to aesthetics.Maybe, if you're comfortable with the lower resolution, reduced brightness and narrower color reproduction. For a few hundred bucks more than this monitor, the M1 iMac has a brighter 4.5K display with P3 color gamut. (It also comes with an entire computer inside.) So no, not really comparable to the iMac, despite the very generous headline on this article.
I guess if you have a Mac already and want to spend $650-700 on a pretty monitor with mediocre specs, these Samsung monitors fit the bill.
