A single example? Every Galaxy class phone has out-speced iPhone. And the OP stated that Samsung was copying from iPhone, and I proved that is not the case. Yes, you are right that all companies copy each other. But the OP implied that all Samsung does is copy Apple, as if Apple was the one who started the whole PDA-phone thing, and I proved that is incorrect. In fact, if anything, Samsung was in the game long before Apple.

A jury saw it differently, and so far the judge has upheld the core findings.

Anyway, as Apple has shown, specs aren't everything. Their dual-core processor outperforms the quad-core in the S4. Also, Samsung cheaps out in the US and gives us a lesser quality processor than they do internationally while still calling it an S4. Wireless charging isn't anything special. My toothbrush has it. However, it wastes power and takes up space. That's probably why Apple hasn't done it.

I agree that Samsung doesn't simply copy Apple. In some respects they are the exact opposite. They throw everything at the wall to see what sticks. They are now saying they'll release a phone with a curved display next month. Whether or not the technology is mature enough is anyone's guess. It could be the next iPhone or iPad. Or it could be a "smartwatch" that needs to be recharged every day. We'll see.

I currently prefer iPhone, as I like the OS a little better, but the Galaxy S series are fine phones too - and they definitely have Apple beat on specs.

Specs don't mean much for phones really, unless you're talking battery capacity, internal storage / external, and camera as a whole not just limited to MP.

Smooth is smooth.

I was joking…it would be an absurd conclusion that gold is the reason. I was just poking fun at Samsung's thinking.

Like their smart TV (wave your hand to change channels)
Like their phones (wave your hand to move screens)

They want loyalty to their phones but the sad truth of android (sad for phone makers) is that google controls the user experience. People can argue all they want about the specs inside the box but the user experience is what really matters.

I guess taking influence from Apple's hardware and software is not enough, they have to figure out how to get influence from the "magic" that Apple prodcuts have that cause masses to wait in line.

Only an idiot wouldn't pay attention to the leader of ANYTHING and try to figure out what makes them successful in order to be successful themselves. This does not mean they should copy and not innovate on their own, but learning lessons from the leader is a tried and true tactic of almost anything in life.
