This is bad news for consumers who don't enjoy Samsung's inferior technology in their Apple devices. I hope Apple can phase Samsung out of the supply chain entirely within the next 12 months. This has to end for the good of Apple and for consumers who want the very best products money can buy.

So what your sating is that every single Apple computer and iPhone and iPad are inferior crap due to the FACT they ALL use Samsung components...

Every single Apple consumer at present does NOT have the very best because of Samsung?

This is why I love Mac Rumors, the ideology's are utterly hilarious :D

A lot of the reason people like Apple so much is because they hate Microsoft so much. iPhones, iPods, and iPads were really just benefactor accessories in the sea of change. It is easy to redirect your emotions to Samsung now that Microsoft has lost it's glory. Apple could be the next has been but who will replace it on the desktop? Microsoft/Windows has totally lost their way and Google/Linux doesn't have the swagger.

Samsung should release a desktop OS and throw everyone off.

I wish I could group all the Samsung haters in a single room and look at their faces. Told them that their still buying Samsung if they like it or not. Nothing but hypocrites here.

But most Samsung haters that hate them for their business and marketing strategy hate Samsung branded devices not Samsung manufacturing they are completely different. Samsung branded devices are designed by Samsung (with some patent infringements), manufactured by Samsung and marketed (in an unethical way) by Samsung. But When Apple selects Samsung as a manufacturer, It is designed by Apple, marketed by Apple and Samsung only manufactures them. So no, it doesn't really affected Samsung ''haters''

You can't be serious ... since when was Samsung's display inferior technology??

Samsung panels aren't designed by Apple, so does their SSD, RAM and other stuffs. But those stuffs are fit Apple's requirements.

There are plenty of good component suppliers, but there is only one that can keep up with the voracious demand for Apple's products, Samsung.

This amuses me. So much animosity yet they both need each other.

With Jobs gone, I think the only real animosity comes from the more rabid fans posting in forums.

Otherwise, I'm sure the law firms are happy to keep the lawsuits going, the marketing firms are happy getting more work to do, and the designers and engineers are okay with having to compete on implementation.

Just business as usual.

Of course, Apple will continue to court other suppliers. They must fear Samsung one day saying no, because that's what Apple itself would do if it could. Apple is very prone to shutting out competition from parts, by buying up companies or getting exclusive deals. Fortunately for them, Samsung is quite willing to sell them parts even while being a competitor.

(Samsung is no longer heavily reliant on Apple. Apple ceased being the world's biggest buyer of electronics about a year ago. Samsung is now. Moreover, as Apple has switched to using other suppliers, that switch has forced other companies to move from those suppliers over to Samsung. It's basically a null game.)

Except Samsung's displays, memory, and SSDs used in many generations of Apple products did not cause them to be inferior.

Need we be reminded how many people went on exchange sprees trying to get a Retina MacBook Pro with a Samsung display because LG's screens had problems and were inferior?

Check his post history.

Maybe if Samsung no longer has any of Apple's business, they'll no longer have to resources to copy--- I mean build competitive products! Muahahahhhahhaa!!!

>_> Okay maybe not. But still, it wouldn't be a bad thing.

Right. Because Samsung needs inside information to copy if they wanted. They couldn't just watch the keynotes and/or buy a device in the store?

This is the last year this is gonna happen.

Apple will continue to do business with Samsung because unlike some posters here, business is business. It's not personal. If Samsung makes the best components, are competitive with their pricing, etc - then it only makes sense that Apple would use them as a supplier.

SSD and RAM is not designed by Apple, I did not said something like that, And you missed the main point, people hate Samsung branded devices like Galaxy Devices, Samsung TVs etc. not Samsung manufactured devices like SSD, RAM etc.

apple should buy/build a factory in china and run the show alone without suppliers.

Yes...it make sense Apple wasting billions of dollar to learn how to make every single components inside iPad, iPhone, iPod, Mac. It is also making sense Apple to build every single thing inside of their product, from transistors, capacitors to hard drives, SSD, RAM, LTE chips etc.

It makes total sense for Apple to do that when they can get components from supplier at much lower prices. You are just a good CEO candidate for Apple.

Some people here hate Samsung branded products, maybe because their loyalty to Apple or they just naturally hate Samsung without reason. But not ALL apple users and people hate Samsung stuffs. I seen many iPad users carrying an Samsung phone or Samsung TV or Samsung coolers etc.

You also need keep in mid every Samsung branded component inside Apple prouder will carry Samsung brand, whether you can see it or not. If you only referring product that has Samsung visible (like on the front or back of the product carrying Samsung logo) then you are probably right. But I do no think people are this narrow minded.

So SSD and NAND ram inside those macbooks are designed by Apple? ReallY? LOL!

Eventually an Ipod is created and even a music store in fragrant disregard for the original legal agreement. Another law suit is launched by Apple corporation in 1991 and guess what they win again and Apple has to pay many millions but again as part of the settlement they get a limited agreement to enter the music business. Of course they disregard that agreement and end up in Court again in 2003 and lost again with some more $$$ changing hands.
The only thing 'fragrant' around here is this paragraph. It seems to be wrong in every single respect.

You don't get the main point don't you? Galaxy Devices, Samsung TVs etc. are Samsung Branded devices, SSDs, LCD Panels, etc. are Samsung Manufactured devices. People hate Samsung Branded devices. Understand?

Nope because it's a complete BS by you, most people love their Samsung devices as much as their Apple devices... :D

Right on the heels of another successful quarter for Apple, J.D. Power has awarded the tech giant with the proverbial cherry on top: its latest smartphone customer satisfaction survey puts the iPhone maker ahead of Samsung, HTC, BlackBerry and LG on every major U.S. carrier. According to J.D. Power, customers of AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile are most satisfied with their iOS devices, with Samsung taking second place. It wasn’t exactly a blowout for Apple though – on a 1,000 point scale for each carrier, Apple only beat Samsung by double digits for Sprint customers. The score was within a single point for Verizon.

Look out, Apple AAPL +1.19%. Two smartphones from Samsung have just trumped the iPhone to seize the top spot in a new customer satisfaction survey.

Samsung’s Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note II each scored 84 on a scale of 100 in a smartphone brand study by the American Customer Satisfaction Index. They beat out a trio of Apple’s phones–the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S, which each got an 82, and the iPhone 4, which received an 81.

Apple and Samsung don’t only have the most profitable smartphone businesses — they also have the most satisfied customers. The latest survey of American consumers from J.D. Power shows that iPhone users are the most satisfied customers at Verizon and AT&T while Samsung Galaxy users were the most satisfied customers at Sprint and T-Mobile. J.D. Power seemingly conducted its survey of American wireless consumers before T-Mobile started selling the iPhone to its customers earlier this year so we don’t yet know whether Samsung will remain the preferred smartphone brand for T-Mobile users going forward.
Apple and Samsung tied

When it comes to a company that makes you happy, which is it? Apple? Microsoft? Sony? Samsung? Well in the latest customer satisfaction survey, it has been found that Apple actually placed fourth in Forrester Research’s customer satisfaction survey. Based on the numbers, Sony actually took the lead with a score of 83, followed Samsung and Microsoft who tied at 82, followed by Apple with a score of 81, all of which are admittedly pretty close to one another. However it seems that none of these companies managed to beat out the likes of Amazon who score around the 85 mark, which according to Forrester Research meant that the company had entered into “Excellent” territory.

What part of my post indicated I thought they needed insider information? I said they would no longer have the resources to compete. I wasn't serious anyway

LOL.

If this thread topic read "Samsung found guilty and forced to pay billions" the thread would have 15+ pages of comments bashing Korea and how the scum company needs to go out of business.

But the thread topic reads "Samsung becomes apple's top ipad display supplier in q1 2014" or anything positive about Samsung and it's 2 or 3 pages with barely a chatter.

The trolls come out of the woodworks and are always moving their goalposts.

This forum makes me laugh.
