Samsung is most likely preparing a backup career option as a fruit vendor given that Apple is about to help put them out of the smart gizmo business.

Hope they have a way to deliver those pears, seeing as how Apple has so many of the shipping services booked in anticipation of their iPhones sales. Hate to see it all go to spoils. Think it is a cool campaign though. Have to agree, could use some better graphics.

I like how the image snagged by MacRumors has a typo: "fuzz" instead of "fuss" (corrected now on the Samsung website).

Oh, wow, I thought "fuzz" was intentional. I know some fruits are fuzzy... I don't personally eat pears but I thought maybe they were one of the fruits with fuzz.

Free publicity for Apple! Thanks Samsung!

Samsung's entire marketing approach seems to revolve around creating publicity for Apple. Perhaps Samsung should focus on doing the very best they can do and spend less time worrying about what Apple is doing.

I get the local issue connection - but it seems a woefully half-baked idea.

Unless they're using the hashtag to distribute links back to a Samsung-controlled website where they control the marketing message?

So everyone who thinks their tweets are helping struggling farmers are actually driving traffic to Samsung's marketing dept? Call me cynical.

The is another small twist to this, in Dutch (and German, the third Belgium language) the expression 'comparing apples and oranges' is 'comparing apples with pears'.

Oh Samsung you silly rabbit how you hate all the free publicity Apple gets. How you wish a few people would stand in line to buy your products, and how you wish the media would care 1/100th as much about your events...... But alas your only option is to spend Billions trying to make fun of Apple's free publicity and their fanatical customers

Haha. Hardly. I'm sure the iphone 6 will be nice and the iWatch may be as well. But they are hardly going to be so wonderful as to put anyone out of business.

iPhone, iPod, iPad (x2), iMac and MacBook owner.

I sort of like this campaign and think it is somewhat funny ....

To those complaining about the colors: When I saw it, my first thought was "wow, they even picked up the iOS 7 color scheme" ..... (remind me a lot of those from the HealthKit and HomeKit apps)

Anyway, can't wait until Apple finally tells me what I will buy end of September and early next year !

Samsung is so freaking annoying now.

I think they're trying too hard to paint themselves as the dashing new "enfant terrible" on the block.

More enfant than terrible, I'd say. But terrible too, in an enfant sort-of way. :p

Thank you. Learned something there :)

They're like the ex-girlfriend jealous of the new girlfriend. She's gonna be doing drive-bys all day long.

They simply don't know how to handle it, and it just ends up embarrassing for everyone involved.

The typography, layout and color (white text on light background) are actually killing me. This is the end. They did nearly everything wrong.

I'm honestly thinking about designing a better one just to see if they steal it.

Samsung buys pears and Apple donates over $70 million to (product) red. :apple:

Apple popularity gets Samsung to buy those pears and Apple donates . . .

double charity

----------

Wow Samsung is encouraging tweets about their competition! Stupid company.
They will be buying a lot of pears!!!

yep and yet they think they are being cute by saying 'an apple' and yet they are really only looking for their hashtag.

I mean if they really wanted to push this they would be looking for all Apple related tags and mentions. But they know that with the announcement today that would bankrupt them if they really did buy a pear for every tweet. Cause there will be millions of them.

Err … Handing out free stuff as marketing is very, very different from "donating".

One is trying to make money. The other is doing good.

I'm being picky here but a new graphic designer is needed.

Twitter should have a capital.

Why is the hashtag aligned to the right, should be centered over the "a".

Oh and more thing, it's quite difficult to read.

Good job.

By aligning the hashtag to the right, looks like they are trying to create a shape that looks like a pear.

Really? I see a lady in a flowing dress.

With shoulder pads. Very '80's

(Or, if i squidge my eyes, I see a completely eaten apple core. What's that mean? Is Samsung that clever? :) Or do Korean pears look like half-eaten apples? I'm so confused  )
