I'm with iGrip here. You're all accusing Samsung of copying an Apple product that doesn't exist yet. It's like some of you here don't have a personal opinion about other companies, rather a Pavlovian response.

MMMmmm. Pavlovian response.

the battery life issue and solution would be to place the watch on an inductive or other wireless charger pad each night, on your night stand.

:apple::apple::apple:

I'm really looking forward to smartwatches, and the technology is here for reasonable battery life / communication particularly due to low powered Bluetooth 4.0.

Translated to "we will see what Apple offers and do that"

Apple make that comment too "we don't comment on future products"- but Samsung can't?

Did people forgot about this Kickstarter project?
Pebble.

This precedes both Apple's and Samsung's smartwatches.

Or this guy here from 2010.

This kind of post is just a rehash of the traditional talking points about Apple...

Yes, there were personal computers before the Apple ][ and the Mac

Yes, there were mp3 players before the iPod

Yes, there were smartphones before the iPhone

Yes, there were tablets before the iPad

Yes, there are now smart watches before the rumored iWatch

The difference, of course, is that NOBODY actually bought this stuff until Apple perfected the design, features, and ease-of-use part. Once shown how to do it by Apple the so-called competition jumped in. The smartwatch market will be exactly the same.

As soon as you hear something, you all start swawking "copy copy copy" like a bunch of trained parrots.

"What's this? Samsung's making a sleek antigravity driven flying car with crash control? Stupid Shamesung! Always copying. Apple should just buy them OLOL"!

Yeah, and Smart TVs at that.

Probably because it's Samsung. If HTC made this, the responses would be different.

If I wanted a watch I'd buy something mechanical. It's quaint, I know, but electronic watches make a statement that I am not sure I would ever want to make.

Wait!

Samsung, please wait until Apple makes its watch so you could "inspire" yourself. Otherwise it could be a big fail.

Ridiculous that anyone would want to put that on their wrist.

I'll stick my with Planet Ocean.

Now Samsung just has to wait for Apple to release their iWatch so they can copy it.

No one bought smartphones? No one bough the Pebble? LOL OK...

So-called competition. Let me ask you this. If Samsung is no competition - why all the hate from forum members and also from Phil over at Apple? No so-called about it. Apple has serious competition in the cell market thanks to HTC and Samsung. Especially Samsung.

Personally I think the Pebble is on target. It's not overly complicated and while it might be able to be in better packaging (style wise) - it does light lifting - not heavy. If I were to WANT a smart watch - I wouldn't want it to replace my phone unless it actually replaced my phone. I wouldn't want a companion device. But having something that extends my smart phone to be able to see alerts, etc on my wrist and/or was NFC enabled - that's a good product.

Apple is probably leaking a few rumours saying they are working on the watch then *BAM* They introduce the new Apple Television instead. Right in the @ss, Samsung.

Don't Samsung already make and sell TV's?

That's not the point. Apple always introduces a better product than what is offered on the market or at least thats the general impression.

You think that people would disregard their already functional TV's and buy a more expensive one from Apple? Unlike phones there are no subsidies for TV's as far as I know.

geeze people in here will reckon apple invented the tv set if they release one.

So are people going to yawn over this like they did with the "iWatch" rumors?
