Why can't they? Huawei is selling millions of phones without Google services.
Samsung could do the same. But they know no one would buy them.....
Again your position is proven invalid.....

I think it’s clear you don’t know what you are talking about. I suggest you read and understand how android works and then come back to the thread once you understand how the licensing terms work.

My reading comprehension is fine you just hadn’t put forward a convincing argument.
like i said...then you need to learn to read AND comprehend what you are reading.....
Myself and others have posted information for you.
Where is your proof to back up your position?

That’s specifically an all or nothing deal. Samsung cannot pick and choose which services to provide. If Samsung want the play store they HAVE to include google assistant and chrome, which gives google an unfair advantage.

You asked the question:

So Samsung can choose to ship a phone without google assistant and chrome and instead ship it with its own apps and services alone?

Keyword: "alone". Pretty much "all or nothing" scenario in your question and the quote provides the answer.

so where in Android licensing does it say GAPPS have to be used exclusively on Android phones as part of that license?

We have both proven him wrong...we have answered his questions with proof. Yet he won't admit it...

Here is the question that needs answering:

I thought google forced manufacturers to include google apps? For instance, can a phone be shipped with the play store but without google assistant and chrome?

Those are the terms I have asked you a few times to provide...
Like i said...you don't know how to read......GAPPS comes on ALL Android phones by choice!
You really need to Google some of this to educate yourself...you are not coming off in the best light here.

Maybe Google the licensing terms and come back and let us know what you find?

why don't you Google it? Or use your preference...BIXBY!
Right now Huawei is shipping millions of Android phones without the playstore or GAPPS.

Why don’t you just answer the question, can Samsung ship a phone with the google play store but without google assistant and chrome?

No, they do not.

From the same article I linked above:

"The article previously stated that Chrome and search could be included without licensing the Play Store; they cannot. "

Samsung isn't required to use anything Google offers, but if they want Google's apps then they have to have the Play Store.

Right, so it’s definitely true that manufacturers are forced to install google assistant and chrome just to get the play store.

So yes, google gives themselves a privileged position by tying apps and services together into a package instead of allowing manufacturers to pick and choose what they want.

So it seems like my original argument still stands.

Along with the 10's of millions of other Android phones in China.
Right! Thank you for that! This guys doesn't know what he is talking about. he has changed his stance 3 times now from his original argument.

You are just being intellectually dishonest by deliberately not engaging with the argument at hand and just posting sound-bites on the sidelines.

time to add you to the block list!

lol....what? Your original argument was "google forced manufacturers to include google assistant on their phones". You are clearly moving the goal posts here.

Exactly.....because using his own logic...
Bixby actually has a more dominate position on Samsung phones than GA does.
It actually has it's own dedicated button on Samsung phones and is set as a default app that cannot be deleted.

Me too, we are going round in circles because you are refusing to provide an answer to my question!

I think you are probably deserving of the block-list too as your refusal to answer questions sounds a lot of warning sirens for me.
block everyone that proves you wrong.....probably be a big list....
