ok. Now it has been announced, how about tell some details on how the wearable works.

Except the point was to make sure they announce something, anything before WWDC because Samsung has this weird obsession with beating Apple and/or Google to market. Doesn't matter if the product is any good just so long as they can say they were first.

So embarrassing. They literally just look for Apple rumors and try to rush out announcements of half-baked ideas before Apple says anything.

I can't believe an entire company exists just to be the hardware equivalent of the internet 'First !' meme.

You say that as if Samsung was created in 2007 with the launch of the iPhone. Not so. Samsung has been around longer than Apple, originally founded in 1938. That said, their Electronics division's insistence on being 'first!" is quite annoying and childish, eh?

I had to stop reading at the explanation of what SAMI stood for. That has to rank among worst acronyms ever. That includes all of the convoluted gov't ones. I hope Samsung put more thought into the actual system.

With all the comfortably overweight Americans I see day to day I even wonder how many of these things will sell, that is after the wave of Appleites buy them to just say they have them.

I see and the Apple this, Samsung that, comments coming in this thread.

But you do have to find it amusing that These Tech rags, announce that apple bought product A to augment Product B, and Samsung drops in a month before with an almost identical concept.

Six months from now after Apple launches a biometric product This thread will be filled with Samsung did it first but Apple did it better rants.

The only way we can prove it once in for all is if Apple buys enough companies to make the next great "iproduct" completely in house and has absolutely ZERO leaks.

Better yet, If I was Apple, I would announce a completely viable but BS product including scheduled leaks and product images.... And then NEVER release it. (kinda like the iTV).
How can u be sure that apple is not already going that?

"Samsung Architecture Multimodal Interactions"

Suddenly iWatch doesn't seem quite such a crappy name.

Samsung must have an entire division dedicated to scanning the web for Apple rumors. Funny how they always seem to come out with stuff after Apple is rumored to be working on it. How's the Galaxy Gear doing?

Looks like I'll be able to ditch my doctor soon. I can be my own doc and not have to visit a hospital and die from infection.

At this point I have to step back and pause and think for a moment.... Whats up with all these health sensors lately?

Do you really want to be constantly reminded of how your health sucks? Whatever happened to blissful ignorance, like say today?

That arm is definitely not Japanese. LOL! They must be marketing this to rich Arabs.

I guess Samsung wants you to have sensors plugged into you all over your body. Yeah, that'll fly. This is like the 1970s Six Million Dollar Man version (though not nearly as cool as the Six Million Dollar Man) of a Casio. In fact, I've had Casios that did practically the same thing, and probably equally as bad as this will.

What single piece of evidence have you that they have done anything like that? Do you seriously think they sit around checking Macrumours headlines and then rush to research, design, developed, prototype, manufacture, test and release something just in order to beat Apple? You really need a reality check if so.

A company the size of Samsung doesn't turn these sort of things around in a couple of weeks - pipeline products are planned months and years ahead of them becoming a market place reality.

What is truly embarrassing is how some people go on about how even when Apple isn't first at something, somehow other companies are still copying them. Apparently.

LOL, they call their new product SAMI. Ironically I call Samsung "Sammy". I'm sure Sammy created the SAMI name on purpose to represent their company.

S.A.M.I = STEALING APPLE'S MANY INNOVATIONS

I wonder if this is any indication of what we will see from Apple at WWDC on Monday, does Samsung know something we don't and that's why they did this event

Samsung essentially follows sites like MacRumors and throws out products based on rumours about Apple before Apple supposedly releases those products.

Apple should produce a load of fake rumours about a 'smart' toaster.

Samsung would have a 'smart' toaster out in a few weeks after that.

your comment and others the like, that defend Samsung...

No product announced, API's not finished, back end software won't be ready for another 6 months. There's only one reason this was announced now.
