Apple selling strategy and it's finest.
Announce a $999 regular iPhone X and the next year bring a Plus sized one for $1299 and it will sell like hotcakes.

It won't be $1299. Several big phone retailers and networks have recently experienced declining review from people holding on to phones longer because new ones cost too much and at times offer negligible improvements.

While there will be a "cheaper" 6.1 inch version, the X Plus cannot be too expensive or else people won't buy it.

As other's have pointed out. The X will likely drop in price, leaving a slot for the X Plus to become a $999 phone.

I don't like using anecdotal evidence but amongst my friends, colleagues and people I bump into, I see very few rocking the absolute latest Samsung, iPhone or LG.

I only believe that when I see it, since the iPhone X had to be so expensive due to the OLED display price, imagine a bigger display like 6.1" or 6.5".
Apple doesn't like to lose their profit margin :)

The cost of the iPhone X has more to do with the immense R&D Apple have put into Face ID and true depth cameras.

OLED screens don't cost a fortune as you can find them on numerous phones that are much cheaper than the iPhone X.

Sooo many options. If they bring full screen tech to iPad I’ll have to do some serious analysis on my needs and optimal solution.

looking forward to the bigger model no doubt about it. Only past few months where wish was watching football and NBA on a bigger screen even though the iphone x is great for most usage.

Pretty happy with my iPhone X and still use my iPhone 6s. Really don't see myself upgrading for the next two years. The X was an expensive investment. Face ID beats the heck out of Touch ID; it just works!

Sure, the Plus model is gonna be bigger, come with a faster A12 processor, but I don't think its enough to blast through another grand. When something like 5G radios come built in, maybe return of embedded Touch ID (just because, don't need it since Face ID is sufficient).

The smartphone market is truly running out of steam. Still using the same apps, still using it pretty much how I use my 6s. I think I have been a little bit more impressed with my Apple Watch Series 3.

Touch ID just works aswell?

Isn’t the screen size of the X bigger than any previous iPhone? I ask because comments here make it seem like it was smaller than the regular Plus size phone.

I wish they’d keep Touch ID. I’m guessing Face ID doesn’t work if you’re unlocking your phone in the dark, a frequent occurrence for some, myself included.
FaceID works even better in the dark. It has its own IR flood illuminator + IR dot projector. It is in direct sunlight (as in the sun shining at a relatively low angle almost directly into my face) that it occasionally fails.

If you count the area cut off by the rounded & and the notch, the iPhone X display covers a slightly larger area than the iPhone 6/7/8 Plus display. If you subtract that area, it has a slightly smaller display.

I just hope the $100 difference is just a bigger screen on the X+ along with battery size. Feature parity would be nice.
I suspect it'll be a case of 3Gb versus 4Gb on the Plus as well as one more difference, not a 3 lenses cam instead of two, but something like 4K at 960 Fps on the Plus but only 240 fps on the X.

It'll be nice to have after having a phone that's way too small to hold for a year. (The X)

Idk about that because of the Ming Kuo diagram because he or other people could’ve speculated or reported otherwise?

Won’t be buying an Apple product with a Samsuck screen!!!!

Samsung’s OLED panels are some of the best in the industry and they have refined OLED nicely Over the years. It seems you have more of an issue with Samsung in general based off your posting in this thread.

Hence:

And all those component designs were stolen from Apple because Samsuck steals everything.

Sorry I don’t support thieving thieves who steal ideas, product design, and just about everything else from Apple.

There is no way to actually determine if Samsung steals ideas from Apple, being that we don’t know the timeline of how advanced they are working on certain technology in comparison to Apple. Apple is usually late to release their hardware and features, with Samsung usually being first. So there is not much truth saying Apple is stealing ideas from Apple. Especially given the Apple also shares concepts from Samsung. And for the record, I’m an Apple user and I’m seeing both sides of the spectrum.

Ah, good to know you're thinking with level-headed unbias, taking into consideration each product has pluses and minuses a potential customer must weigh before buying. /s

Sorry but I am an American who supports an American company named Apple who doesn’t have to steal everything like Samsuck did.
