lol sound quality has nothing to do with the OS it is running. It depends on the DAC chip they put in it.
Well the DAC and the software codec for handling the audio decompression. Although decompression is simpler than compression so there should be no noticeable difference there.

Its the wolfson dac also used in the galaxy s and zunehd. Very good quality. A step above the chip used in the ipod touch and iphones.

So, I'm curious, what do you use to manage and sync music to the Galaxy Player?

I already have all my music in iTunes and I actually like the way it works. And it syncs nicely to my iPod Touch.

If its google store capable, then it will sync with itunes just fine with 3rd party apps( i do that with my S2) and use google music or the embedded music player to play easily.

Although all this is possible, I still rather have an ipod touch, which i do but its first gen.

After reading this thread, I think the best thing about the Galaxy Player is that it's meant to be a direct competitor to the iPod Touch. Which will hopefully push Apple to do a decent spec bump for the next iPod Touch.

The ipod touch is due for a revision anyways. Its just the question of when, and like what you said, it should be soon.

Samsung Galaxy Player $199

So, I'm curious, what do you use to manage and synchronize music with Windows Media Player Galaxy?

I have all my music on iTunes and I really like how it works. Syncs well with my iPod Touch. ;)

there is software for androids that will sync all your itunes songs and playlists and even videos and photos with a few clicks on both mac and pc

Theres this application called TuneSync that piggybacks onto your iTunes and syncs the music through wifi. It has numerous options to sync including playlists and by genre etc etc. I use it daily with my Android phone. There are also options to sync when it's charging and stuff.
But DoubleTwist is a good alternative to Syncing too. It syncs with iTunes as well.

Third party apps, such as DoubleTwist or Winamp may be able to mimic iTunes syncing.

Maybe this is just a media player, not suitable to game palying because it's not iPod Touch. But I think this media player still can handle the web browser.

I don't see why it wouldn't be able to run games successfully. Am I right in thinking the iPod's CPU is under-clocked at around 800MHz? Because the Samsung Player uses the 1GHz Hummingbird chip set, which is the same as the Galaxy S, which my mum owns, and games run fine on that.

I have the Galaxy Player 5 and use J River to sync to it, but Musicmonkey is another outstanding program which will sync with it perfectly fine

The Samsung player not only has a faster CPU, but also GPU. It has an SGX540 whereas the 3rd and 4th generation iPod touch models have the SGX535. Additionally the Samsung has double the ram at 512MB.
