The gestures are just replacing the old on screen buttons. It depends on your set up. The middle button is the home button so if you swipe up from the middle it takes you home. On the left is multi tasking, so a swipe up on the left takes you to the app switcher and a swipe up from the right takes you back. This is assuming that you are using Samsung's button layout.

I forgot where I heard this info from, but it's said the S10e has a pentile display. So that might make a difference for the better in your case.

Lack of heptic feedback on the fingerprint is killing the experience for me

I also feel like it take too much pressure to activate the fingerprint sensor

I threw away the included protector right away, so thats not it

The models sold on ebay are the international dual sim version...typically imported from UAE.

Thanks for letting me know videos and Netflix stillook great on the S10e. I thought so but it's good to hear confirmation of that. It's so crazy I'm getting this fabulous phone for $317 (including sales tax).

Of course I have to trade in another fabulous phone to get that price. I will of course have to ensure I can use any display from this generation before I ship my S9+ away.

The battery life sounds more than adequate. It won't be the beast the S10+ is, but it will be good and charge quickly. Lower nits is fine because I rarely run my phones very bright.

I guess I can go with R2 D2 for my wallpaper. I think there's also a BB-8.

I'm not happy to have my choices narrowed down due to my wonky neurological problems. But I think Samsung offered me less painful compromises than Apple did to go from top of the line to the economy model. What remains to be seen is if I can even use this model. The displays are all supposed to be the same except for shape and resolution.

However there's a slight "thing" about the edges that I can't really articulate, particularly with that nasty azz film on it, that I found distracting. I guess it's a little bit of a glow from refracted light. I hope to find flat more comfortable for that reason alone. But yay, I will still get to use Edge features. I do actually use the Edge features. My husband forgets they exist.

Yep, the edge lighting is still there in a flat screen device. I think to make up for no notification LED right now. I rely on different notifications to distinguish between items. Mine is the factory unlocked model, so I'll await that update soon. Not that it is ground breaking.

I never understood why Apple didn't adjust to PMW changes with the XS/XS Max when they're 2nd gen OLED products?

I literally just graze the screen and it unlocks for me. Try re-registering your fingers perhaps. I do agree some Haptic feedback for the FPS would be great and could easily be added in a software update.

Wash your finger with soap and clean the glass with alcohol. I'd suggest a harsh soap to remove oils and not any liquid or moisturizing soaps.

Sorry for the nitpick, but do you have to double tap to wake... Meaning will not just a single tap do the trick!?

If you have a Samsung flip case/wallet opening the case wakes the phone or double tap on the AOD or hitting power button or pressing the FP opens and unlocks in one 🙂

Malaysia for now 🙂 but often Thailand and sometimes UAE or UK
 
Any of you lot feel up a ceramic model? I feel like I'm going to be making a mistake getting the one in ceramic because the 512 GB is only available with ceramic. The ceramic weighs much more than the glass model.

Be patient and let Spotify come with an update that might address the issue with this new flagship. After all, one could argue Samsung is a top priority for Spotify, as I'm sure they'd prefer their customers use Android versus iPhone.

Is it me, or has the importance of Camera been overblown on smartphones!? Don't get me wrong, I want the best, but it's not something I look into first when I get a new device.

I backed out purley as if I go for the Note 10 in a few months it's a waste and trade in is not proportional for higher spec

In Australia, the S10 is $1349 for the 128GB.
The iPhone competitor (XS), with half the memory, is $1629.

iPhones used to be around the $1100-$1200 mark for their smaller flagship models.

But for Apple to inflate things so much, screams greed.

It'd be nice to think Samsung have forced Apple's hand to reduce pricing, but that's a pipe dream...

Great value handsets are the S10/S10E.

I did manage to get to BB and look at the S10e. We turned it into an opportunity to pick up barbecue on the way home. I found it a little hard to focus but at least it didn't make me dizzy. The S10and S10+ with the edges combined with whatever is going on with the display made me dizzy. What the edges do is throw my vision off looking for some depth or something and it's just uncomfortable. I don't care for the edges on my S9+ but didn't have quite the same issue with it that I do on the new displays.

Flatness definitely helped mitigate the weird things going on. I noticed the S10e runs a little hot on the demo software. Fingerprint sensor was in a great place for me for either hand.

I had no problem typing on it. I was worried it would be too small but no, it was fine.

My husband and I did think the S10e display looked more saturated at the same display settings for video viewing. It was fine.

I think I will be able to give the S10e a weeklong trial run. In the meantime I'll continue to try to determine what exactly is messing me up on the S10+. Store lighting can throw off accurate impressions so I really won't know until the phone is with me at home.

The S10e is (in the era of phablets) small and cute. This could end up being a phone that's very easy to keep with me and a nice complement to my behemoth 3XL. 😀

Wishing you luck.

I could not believe how light the s10e is. It is very responsive. The screen looked nice, but my lack of gestures kept me in notes. Had I known the buttons and gestures, I may have bought one on the spot. As it stands, I may have to include mom on my Verizon account if her replacement flip phone still sucks, I almost wanted to trade in this 8+.

Will test out and watch & read this thread. Hope everyone enjoys their s10s.
