Given the wide range of views we have seen on the Fold, Flip and Razr

I wonder how the Miscrosoft Duo is going to fare against the 3, given it has no 3rd display, is not as pocketable, likely expensive and only avoids the less vulnerable current screens by using 2 glass screens but with a physical gap, all be it small and maybe limited cameras

Apparently it allows a peek at notifications etc by just opening the screen slightly

I see the Duo as more of a folding tablet that can also be used as a phone if that makes sense.
But dammit...i want the Flip AND the Duo 😉

As Oohara points out, they were very valid points, made in a measured way.

This 15 min video has almost no positives without a caveat or a sideswipe at Samsung/Android

I believe I counted 4 that were free of caveat. He was surprised the hinge did not pinch you and was well built, he liked the even bezel and flat screen (Slant on other Samsung devices) he thumbed up USB-C and the display was surprising ok

The rest were negative comments of which most were subjective and not measured or balanced.

It's quite clear his agenda was to suit his final summation on his negative forecast for the future of fordable devices

We obviously have a different view on constructive criticism and review of a device by this guy. I was not fooled by his opening stance trying to be level and ignore price etc, it was a throwaway gesture.

Personally I do not even want a Flip but I will buy one for my wife

I am not in denial of negatives and will be the 1st to agree but coming out for that length of time devoted to pocketability and other trivia is my point

Will the reviewers use the same in reverse and say the S20's or Iphones etc have a con because they do not fold or have some of the pro's that foldables have over slabs

I doubt very much, its this bias and dwelling on very subjective points I am poking fun at hence my wallet example as a bit of fun

How many times do we see one liner comments that are simple denials that there are many examples of something folding is a practical solution

How many people have flip/folio cases do we see endless comments on how it takes you extra milliseconds to access your device etc

IMO his exaggerations (Apple Sheep) and bias is for one reason only and can be seen by not raising the same points where there would be similar occurrences

But at the same time you gotta see his frustration. Some people have no interest in participating in discussion other than to post clickbait articles. They don't do any research on the articles or videos to see if the source is real. then argue when you point this out to them. They don't intend to participate in the discussion except to post something negative. they have no desire to get the Flip...just hit and run with negative postings. Their real interest in in another brand...this person even started another thread about another brand they prefer over the Flip. His agenda is quite clear imho.

I thought that was thinking practically, in that for a new device that can be opened with one hand, there may've been the possibility of your skin getting pinched by the closing hinge.

Many people aren't in favour of the infinity display (even owners of them). I also prefer a flat display with uniform bezels. He's just happy Samsung have gone in this direction with the bezels.

It's an ebay link. Anybody can sell anything at any prices on ebay. Stop being so dramatic over an ebay post.
It's misleading because $13k is NOT the actual retail price. And this is for a limited edition version with all the added accessories, not the actual price of the regular version.

Yeah, those listings are meaningless. Anyone can LIST for whatever price they want. More meaningful examples are what they’re selling for and if you search for recent ‘Sold’ listings, you see it’s far less. Yes, they’re selling for a bit of a premium but not that much.

Demand is certainly exceeding supply but early indications are supply is extremely constrained. The 4 US Samsung Experience locations supposedly all received less than 10 units at launch. Those are Samsung’s equivalent to Apple Stores and they had that fee to sell.

Again, try a little research yourself and you’d see there have been a grand total of 3 Thom Browne Edition Galaxy Z Flips sold on eBay for $4600, $3799, and $3770, respectively. You’ll also find 17 current listings with most listed much closer to what they’re already sold for.

Not sure why your commenting on his positive points, even though they were few and far between, We are aligned on this 🙂

I'm not easily offended, hence my reply to Oohara where his comment to me would inflame others and promote what he thought he was trying to avoid 🙁

Still my pet peeve on some of these reviews is simply an over whelming slant on a device that is different

Is a sports car crap because you can seat 4, cant put 3 cases in the boot and scrapes its spoiler on the smallest of bumps, This stance in a car forum would simply be ridiculous comparing the most popular saloon, sedans, SUV's etc against a sports car.

In part this is what some reviewers are doing by trying to align the Fordable devices in to the same slot as Slabs on all points is not realistic

In my simple analogy of Sports car vs other popular cars, the sports car like Foldables has many things in common, yet not

Embrace the differences for what they in an alternative category and not bash them for being non conforming to others

Briefly yesterday morning, Best Buy had the Black unlocked model available for home delivery on March 4. For ever so brief a moment, my new gadget lust took over and I very nearly ordered it. Thankfully I forced myself to close my phone and by the time I arrived at work, the order window had closed. 😛

If I was going to spend nearly $1400 on a new Samsung, it would be the S20 Ultra, a model I find far more functional and fitting with my personal preferences.
