Question for you all:

Do you trust Samsung products generally? Asking because I'm not sure I do, despite the coolness of what they're coming out with. It's all very attractive, etc. but I once owned a Samsung TV and was less than impressed with it. It seemed quite open to malware, as the updates to their security happened once every 2 years or so, if that.

That experience left me cold, and so I wonder at things like longevity and security.

They're generally fine. I put them head and shoulders above some of their competitors like Motorola for phones.

All "smart" TVs are terrible. I'd advise using an external box, like an Nvidia Shield or an Apple TV, regardless of brand.

Thank you. I'd agree, except I now own an LG C2 (after the Samsung died) and it gets updates all the time. Not as regular as Windows updates but far far more frequent than Samsung.

My Ultra 2 has died in a less than 8 hours for me on a long 14-mile hike in winter/blizzard conditions (at 13k ft. elevation) (conditions Apple says the watch is rated for), with LTE and all fitness tracking/backtrack enabled.

Granted this is in extremely rough conditions, but this would not be the case with a Garmin or the Samsung Watch Ultra by the looks of it.
Right, that’s extreme 😅. But I doubt the Samsung will fare better, this tech is no different. The LTE is the battery killer by the way, I only switch that on when I need it, or every half hour to check messages when on a hike. That lasts me a good 16 hours.

As does my LG C1 and the UX still is not great. I primarily use it as a PC monitor though, so I'm hardly ever interacting with WebOS.

Google Gemini is the worst of gen Ai out there. Tried for 2 months free, had lot of goodies like 30 TB free and other freebies like Google sheets, docs/word. But in the end Gemini was a disaster.
Gemini tried to rewrite European history before it was called out. Now THAT’S artificial!

Samsung has made 6 generations of foldables already, wow.
Will it reach 10 before apple makes their first? time will tell.

Only if they want to compromise the phone. I don't think Apple care.

Apple do care, not so much about the phones themselves moreso the sales figures.

Samsung's been selling more and more foldables each year; plus the average foldable is much more expensive than the average non foldable; plus the lower durability is showing that people are replacing them sooner than with non-foldables.

From a sales standpoint, it's been a good strategy for them and i'm sure Apple would be watching keenly.

I'm pretty confident that apple will release their own foldables when they determine that the time is right; unfortunately for us that timing won't be because they've perfected the phone; but because they've determiened that it'll be a financially smart thing to do.

No Idea. Rumours are that they have been researching them, but we don’t actually know. Apple will do what they will do, and they rarely bring products to market just for the money. They do it with an ecosystem. Suggesting otherwise is just a conspiracy theory not based on fact. But rumour away…

It isn't even remotely a copy. It is a development/refinement of their own Galaxy S3 Frontier design from 2016. And before Apple released their 1st Watch ever, Samsung had already released 3 squarish watches..View attachment 2395914

That's what's hilarious about the copying nonsense, Samsung had a square watch way before Apple. Both companies copy from each other, I don't need to hear an idiotic wannabe axiom like "A bad artist imitates and a great artist steals," my God I just cringe when I hear such BS.

With that said Samsung's new watch is freakin' hideous, just atrocious. Functionally it doesn't make sense to me, why bother with a square shape then handicap it with a round screen? Why put in a bezel that doesn't physically rotate? I think I'll keep my AW Ultra another year.

PS: Galaxy Gear circa 2013: I remember this fondly as I was into the Note series back in those days. It was actually well ahead of it's time with a camera.

Pre-ordered a Z Fold 6. I doubt I will keep it over my OnePlus Open, but I always have to try out new foldables. I'm excited to try the Pixel Fold 2 and the OnePlus Open 2 as well. Once you've owned a foldable, it is very difficult to go back to a slab phone. I know I never will, outside of using one as a backup phone.

Edit: After watching the hands on video from Unbox Therapy, I've cancelled my pre-order due to the crease still not improving over the past two generations. Once you've owned a foldable without a crease, you cannot go back to one with a noticeable crease again. So it goes...

Yeah I placed an order, just couldn't resist the price being below $500 after all of Samsung's crazy discounts. I'm still on the fence and think what I really want is a Pixel Fold 2, but wanted to at least give the ZF6 a chance. But at sub $500 I could just keep them both.

That specific request seems really hard to implement, “the grocery store” is very vague, at least having a store name would help narrow it down more… And it would have to follow your location for the next X hours/days until you get to anything that could remotely be described as a grocery store. Even a human could get confused with something like this: “This is Walmart! You said to remind you when we got to the grocery store” lol

Wouldn’t it be easier to just say “Siri add toilet paper to my shopping list”?

But really that's the promise of AI I would think. AI would know your patterns and habits, where you shop, the distance to the nearest store, the time you have left before having to pick up the kids, how much money you have in your account and which coupons and sales it should look for. After all if I had a human personal assistant they would probably know much of this and just act on it. Instead we get Siri: "Would you like me to put toilet paper on your shopping list?" Yep thanks for nothing.

Whether it was Picasso, Igor Stravinsky, Banksy or Jobs who have all been attributed said it, the points exists. Taking an idea, extending it and making it your own takes courage and ability. Personally, I wouldn’t call any of those an idiot, I can’t place myself in a situation where I feel qualified to judge them.

I feel like Samsung is somewhat stagnant nowadays.

Not really feeling the Fold 6. I was tempted, but it just seems to much of the same from previous Folds. I will most likely give the next Pixel Fold a shot.

Another beautiful watch design, but iPhone is my main phone and already use the AWU2. Plus I already have the Watch 5 pro which I barely wear now. So it would be pointless to upgrade.

The Buds 3 (and Pro) is just an idiotic design choice for them to go with. Not interested at all. I so badly wish they continued with the bean design for the open ear buds. The bean design is my favorite open ear design.

I was interested in the ring, but hell no I'm not paying $350-$400 for a damn smart ring. If it was $200 straight, I would probably bite.

However, I will be upgrading my Flip 5 to the Flip 6. Already Pre-ordered (mint color). The improvements seem worthy with the trade in price.

I might trade in an older Galaxy Watch for one of the new ones. I would have gotten a ring if it had blood pressure monitoring, but it looks like it doesn’t, so no dice. I refuse to buy another one of their foldables. I had gotten the ZFold 4 from two models ago, but after 18 months, the screen started bubbling up with bubbles surrounding the hinge area. No more foldable phones for me.

Can you imagine if that happened with an iPhone? Class Action all the way.

If I wasn’t an Apple Watch user, I’d get one of these. I think they look great.

Yeah, it looks ugly as if you put on a screen protector incorrectly and couldn’t squeeze out all the bubbles. All the way up and down the phone, there are multiple air bubbles all within a half inch of where the phone folds. I tried squeezing them out but they just move around.

If I wasn’t an Apple Watch user, I’d get one of these. I think they look great.
The only problem I have with the Samsung watches is a problem with sleep tracking. I’ve got four generations of Samsung watches and all of them have the same problem. They never report more than 30 minutes of deep sleep a night when the average per night is usually around 90 minutes.

I have a RingConn ring and Apple Watch, which both show the amount of deep sleep I should be having. I don’t know if it’s something unique to me, but i can’t trust Samsung’s sleep tracking. The watch overall is pretty nice, though. I swap watches out all the time. One thing I don’t like about Apple Watches is that you have to manually set the watch to track. The Samsung watch and my ring detects that automatically without having to manually start tracking. However, due to that bug, I only wear the Samsung when I’m awake. I do like the watches, so I might buy another one and trade in the Watch 6 I have.

I have an LG TV and it’s the worst tv ever. It’s so slow. It’s basically useless as a tv. I only use apple on it. In thinking of calling and see if I can get a warranty replacement out something. I was sold on getting a flip 6. I thought they would have increase the flex window to cover the whole outside. I will enjoy my 16 pro until Apple release a flip phone.

Good to see the new foldables. Only minor changes. The watch and Buds seems like replicas of Apple watch and AirPods. Would have liked to see something different than just copying.

I had one of these. Absolutely loved it! If I remember correctly the camera was horrendous. But the faces, design and everything about I agree... Was very ahead of it's time.

I was going to at least try it out, but after seeing the crease it was an instant no-go. That and they would only give me $300 for trade-in credit for my OnePlus Open, which is crazy considering it is still the superior phone of the two. Let me know what you think of it though! I would say it would be an upgrade coming from any phone other than the OnePlus Open.
