Another reason for divorcing functions between smartphone and tablets is to increase battery power resource.

Oh absolutely, if I had to say, spend all day waiting for jury duty without having a guarantee of power source, I'd bring a tablet and a phone, and use the tablet for everything except calls.

Most of the time I just want to carry a phone, though.

I do have a 4s too but I definitely want a bigger screen.frankly what was shown in this ad is a true life daily experience for me.
Well..maybe not if you only use the phone to make calls and to send sms..in that case a traditional non smart phone would be the best option..

For what I use my phone for it works great for me. I use many things like iPod, pandora, podcasts, streaming radio, quick check of websites, etc. If iOS didn't outdate the capabilities of devices or become very sluggish, I would buy a brand new 4s today.

Dude, in a small way, i understand if people like the iPhone 5/5s screen, but 4/4s? You suck. That screen sucks. I can barely type an email sideways on my 5s. Typing on a 4s?......

You really can't imply that I "suck" based on the reason I like/prefer/ am accustomed to the original iPhone screen size. After 5 years, it's what I am used to and it fits nicely into my pocket. The 5.x screen size is growing on me but the extra length in proportion to the width is of no real gain in usability or viewing pleasure IMHO, esp. for what I use my phone for.

Every time I visit this forum I can't avoid imagining people walking confused in circles, hitting a wall from time to time with their heads saying something like "I can't handle a big phone steve said so I won't be able to use it my pants are small I can't handle a big phone my pockets 3,5 is perfect steve said my hands are too small steve said this I don't understand I won't be able to use it" lol

Steve probably just thought everyone would hold a larger phone the wrong way.

Are we talking in circles? Their profits are plunging. This is the part where you tell me they're in it for the market share.

Yep and Apple's profits are rising - that's your hard earned money we are talking about. Wouldn't it feel so much better if you could have kept more of it for yourself instead of swelling Apple's coffers?

I don't care who they are, I don't want any company getting rich off my back. Who do you think is laughing all the way to the bank?

I think he meant that it's not uncommon for some people to diss a feature until Apple gets it. It's something Steve Jobs taught them.

That may be so, but English is not my first language, and I learned that words are important. I need to assume he meant what he said, which was something different. :)

Ugh, the idea of comparing Samsung junk to Apple is grotesque.

Even if you want Android (!), you want a Nexus. Samsung's Android phones run years out of date OSes, a gooped up Samsung interface, and typically have terrible RF compared with Apple/Nokia/Motorola.

LOL there is so much ******** in this thread.
I LOVE coming to these threads for all the laughs.

Oh and Im typing this on my macbook air. You guys need to quit acting like children.

Samsung is boring me

Samsung is really boring me. They allways present these anti-Apple ads... even their ads are only Apple centric. They copy Apple products, they copy the mood of Apple advertising and then they steadily produce these boring, uncreative anti-Apple ads...

Samsung is desperate.

I personally am content with the 5S screen size, and I definitely do NOT want to deal with the terrible-ness that is Android, but if I did buy an Android phone, it wouldn't be a Samsung device! It seems that Samsung is tacky! I mean, compare an Apple ad with a Samsung ad. It would make me want to buy an Apple product.

It's funny no one likes these ads. I think they're not that different from the Mac vs. PC ads..

No one likes Samsung's commercials because the characters are unlikeable – that's the difference. Nokia had also been making this mistake of showing superficial douchebag characters who flash around their latest 'status symbol'... Apple were creative in their approach for the Mac vs PC, and didn't even need to show the device.

Yes, Apple was very polite representing Windows users with a middle aged (fat?) man wearing ugly clothes and glasses. Samsung is using young good looking people for representing Apple's clients.

Man, Apple was much more elegant... NO. These ads are less funny simply because they do not make fun of a person or stereotype looking, get over it.

If samsung do what apple did, you would be riding on anger

Galaxy S3, S4 and S5 all running the lastest Android Kit Kat. ;)

Lets not forget, just because Apple updates all devices at the same time - not all devices get the same update with all the features. ;)

I wasn't even talking about apple, just stating that android updates take forever. By the time you get the "latest" the new "latest" is only a few weeks away.

Kitkat came out in Oct. The s3 got it like last week.

With Apple the only time main system apps get updated is when they roll out an update. With Android, apps are updated separately away from the main system.

So someone who has jellybean and is waiting for kitkat, will still be running the latest versions of the system apps on their phone.

A lot of people either forget this or seem to disregard it.

Android updates are much MUCH more than updated system apps though, right? If that's all they were, or if the reason people want the latest android version is for system apps, there wouldn't be a problem would there?

Android updates often bring new, awesome features, security fixes and performance enhancements. Not just a gmail update...

But you already knew that

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_version_history

Very few mentions of system app updates in the version histories.
