I saw this ad last night. It's funny, but not for the reasons the Samsung wanted. The jealousy is palpable. They only wish that they had the kind of brand recognition and brand loyalty that would cause people to line up for their products. But they don't, and they know it. They've put out the same plastic phones with the same hardware specs and the same OS as everyone else. They mock Apple because they know that they can't get half of the interest or mindshare that Apple can, and it's just gotta burn them up.

This phone, is amazing!
It tells my carrier where I am, what I am doing, how many relationships I have, and all my passwords.:D

It seems that the reason Apple fanbois are so offended is the fact that this ad is so funny. Already known as hyper sensitive, the ad pushes all their buttons.

It's because they're creative.

(Sorry, I dont mean to hate, it was just too easy).

The Galaxy S II ad is clever but Anandtech revealed its dirty little secret. It uses a lame graphics processor. The Galaxy Nexus and Droid Razr use an even lamer GPU.

Yes, the iPhone 4S has a much faster GPU. However...

As their article put it, there's still "more than enough hardware at ICS' disposal to deliver a smooth experience".

The OpenGL benchmarks show the Nexus being 2-3 times better than the iPhone 4, and most people would call that phone a nice gaming device.

Everything is relative.

The GLBenchmark on the page I linked is an OpenGL benchmark. And the iPhone 4S (and iPad 2) beat every other device by far.

Which OpenGL Benchmarks are you referring to?

Samsung Mocks iPhone Fans in New Galaxy S II Ad

They were not insulting, mean spirited, etc. I hope Samsung sees that they are insulting the very customers they are targeting. This could backfire big time. It's a negative campaign.

Agreed, save the negative stuff for the politicians, after watching Snow Dark and the Seven Dorks for weeks, IM convinced negative doesn't work, you eventually will eat your young...

Anyone who feels personally insulted by these adverts would never buy a Samsung phone anyway. The rest of the world is laughing at you with Samsung. :D They are not risking alienating potential customers. Diehard Apple fans will continue buying Apple products no matter how great competing products might be.

Personally I think the ads are funny and well done. I still won't be buying an Android phone though. :)

We're seeing Samsung attempting to differentiate themselves from the vast ocean of Android devices that clog mobile retail.

This is a good point.

Windows is like that. It doesn't matter what hardware you run it on, it's all the same. The same goes for Android in the phone market.

That's why iOS and iPhone is a unique experience - and in my own opinion, a good one.

Super add..

I always found fanboys (of whatever in general, and of Apple in particular) very similar to religious zealots...

Just like the latter, the former also deserve to be taken the piss out of without mercy...

Just switched from Samsung galaxy s to IPhone 4s

I just switched. So far the experience has been just great. The basic operations of turning the phone on, making phone calls, sending text, sending photos in text, is much faster in simpler than it was on the galaxy s vibrant phone. I know that the galaxy s 4 g is a faster and different phone, but the issue is the software and the human interface, and that will not be changed by the hardware. Incidently this was written on a samsung tab 10.1.
