OLED tech has serious drawbacks. Burn in is the biggest. Apple waited until the tech matured and they could counter so that your phone wouldn't have burn in. Go read about OLED burn in. It's a big deal especially on TVs.
Burn in on phone screens is now non existent ! It has been for a while now. Try harder....

Apple will come out with their solution to the foldable display in 5-7 years and it will blow away everyone else who has creased and cracked plastic screens.

Maybe try and read versus conjuring up nonsense.

If you look at an OLED display off-angle, you might notice slight shifts in color and hue. This is a characteristic of OLED and is normal behavior. With extended long-term use, OLED displays can also show slight visual changes. This is also expected behavior and can include “image persistence” or “burn-in,” where the display shows a faint remnant of an image even after a new image appears on the screen. This can occur in more extreme cases such as when the same high contrast image is continuously displayed for prolonged periods of time. We’ve engineered the Super Retina display to be the best in the industry in reducing the effects of OLED "burn-in."

Published by Apple as part of a marketing campaign!!!!

Brilliant!!! You sir, are adorable!!!!!! Tim cook has been on the phone, would you like to buy a bridge?

Why should Apple compete in this stupid segment?

Because not everyone uses, needs, nor sees the AppleTV as a bigger screen to be a viable/useful solution. Mirroring a screen is garbage on AppleTV vs having a larger screen when/where you actually require it.

When more powerful apps are delivered to utilize the requirement and power of a larger screen with REAL compelling use cases to answer the real question/problem/ask ... THEN Apple will compete.

Apple is FAR too conservative to consider a foldable phone outside of their internal think-tanks. No real full working prototype is build until Apple really considers it and has a working business/retail sales case already aligned.

Alas ... Apple also doesn't like to often show off their most innovative products for sale. Seems to always shoot themselves in the foot:

1. PowerMac G4 Cube (I still love the design and engineering innovative hardware design of this PC)
2. Mac Pro 2013-2018 "Trash Can" (lol ... that knickname says it all. Do I personally want one, yes. but I'm not ever going to pay 2013 retail pricing for it. It's still useful for non real professionals that make their income after taxes on this).
3. Apple Duo (great concept that never evolved and too forward thinking for what the hardware at launch time could deliver on, sadly).

Honestly I can only see the PowerBook G4 Titanium as the real success of Apple showing an innovative product that sold very well: fibre LED backlit keyboard, Ultrawide display with super thin bezels that took Apple close to 12yrs to get to again with the 2016-2018 MBP's.

Apple is not going to make a foldable phone in near future. If they do I will eat my shoes.

Would you need gravy, tomato/pesto sauce, or dressing with your shoes?
Are you talking sweaty grime used shoes or something else?

Mark this post guys ... something tells me Heineken is going to regret it; and I want video proof of you eating your shoes if Apple makes a foldable phone. Just remember you did NOT state anything about Apple selling a foldable phone, just making one!

970 is getting kind of weak these days. You need at least a single 1080 to run VR decently (depending on the game too). Prices will come down of course and VR gaming will catch on to some degree. You can't write it off just yet. You should hackintosh your desktop though and give it a dual boot.

VR Gaming already took off: Nantec's Nintendo Pokemon Go = that's AR gaming in real use.
[doublepost=1551833863][/doublepost]I've not seen this level of quality in presentation since the SonyEricsson X1 with HTC's arc slider for physical KB.

So anything that you don't agree with is fake news?
You clearly fall for marketing spin, in a big way :)
The tract you quoted uses terms like "slight"
A slight change can be from 100% ideal to 99.99%. If labs can prove a change like this then a claim so made is not a lie.

Also burn in claim -
"This can occur in more extreme cases such as when the same high contrast image is continuously displayed for prolonged periods of time".
This will not occur on a modern smart phone.
However, the claim is not a lie.

Edit: Notice use of words "can" "continuously" "prolonged" :)
