Samsung screen here and I'm pretty happy with it. No problems from I can tell.
I have not done IR test yet though.

I have the same model # as you. So are we Samsung?

Late 2012 13 inch rMBP 2.9/8/768GB:

Manufacturer 00000610
Model 0000A013

My daughters 13 inch rMBP 2.5/8/256GB shows the same manufacturer, but model is 0000A014.

Mine looks more yellowish than hers, but if all 610 are Samsung we were both lucky!

Mine is also 610 for the manufacturer, but the model is A0020. Sadly, I suspect we are all LG panel owners - as far as I know, 13" are only LG. :(

Hi, why do you think that? I doubt all 13 inch rMBP are LG's as Apple would have more than one supplier on their displays. Also, I have not seen yet a single person complaining from IR on the 13 inch retinas, which were released around 6 months after the 15 inch version was released (October 2012 versus June 2012), so it is very likely that we got either the second generation LG screens (SJA2) or the Samsung displays.

This is only based on what research I have been able to do yesterday and today.

I did run the checkerboard test and did notice a faint hint of IR from it. Assuming what others have said in other threads that it will only get worse, it makes me weary about keeping my machine.

However, for our sake (and all other 13" owners), I would love for what you are saying to be true. Here's hoping that if the problems to become full blown in the next few months, that a more permanent solution can be made available, as I really don't want to give up this (otherwise) great laptop.

How are you guys checking your model# and manufacturer number?

Go to SYSTEM PREFERENCES. Then DISPLAYS. Then hit the COLOR button. Then OPEN PROFILE. Then scroll down to MMOD. The info will be listed below

610 is not the manufacturer code for the screen. 610 is the (manufacturing) part number that Apple uses for the screen.

The model number is specific to the manufacturer of the screen (for example, A004 is for LG).

LG here everything here looks great. Colors are fantastic.

At this point, it is looking like there are at least two manufacturers of LCDs for the late-2013 13" model. We have seen A018 and A020 as possible LCD models in this machine. We still don't know which is which, though. And without people who own the late-2012 or early-2013 models of 13" posting their ColorSync model data, we know even less about their stories

I've got the 15" Haswell rMBP with discrete GPU. My display is a Samsung (LSN154YL01-A01).

Manufacturer: 00000610
Model: 0000A022

All in all, it's a great looking display. I'd say it's a little on the cool side (I've made no attempt to calibrate), though it's not as cool as my early 2011 Sandy Bridge high-res MBP display and the white is much more accurate (definitely not perfect, though). More vibrant colors and better contrast. I'd love to see what it looks like calibrated, but I don't have a meter (and don't anticipate getting one), so I'll have to settle for the out-of-the-box settings.

I keep reading this here and there from people without giving any sources. How do you all know? What's your source?

A reputable source has yet to reveal itself. My guess: Someone, somewhere on some forum decided it was so and others ran with it. That's the internet for ya.

Until someone figures out a way to extract the relevant data from the 13" rMBP models there's really no way to tell with 100% certainty whether one is LG, one is Samsung, or all are one or the other. Well played Apple, well played.

The display have a model in their housing, so perhaps someone that has gone through a 13" rMBP DIY screen replacement by purchasing a replacement / used in Ebay or elsewhere could have the answer to our question by matching the screen brand with the computer description for it.

Hence my question: what's their source? One liners like "all 13" screens are made by LG" should be taken with a grain of salt.
