so there seems to be 3 different models on the late 13" laptops: A018, A019 and A020 and the only samsung panel confirmed so far is A022 on a 15"...
So all 13" MacBooks = LG panels?

does anyone know what screen i have??

manufacture 00000610
model 00009CDF
serial 00000000

Not sure if the brand makes a bit of difference . I had both within the same week and they both where good. One was replaced but was not about this issue.

Although I have absolutely no confirmation or knowledge of this, I would expect they do (20-200kHz range, maybe). E.g.:

Yes to the eyestrain (A018). I thought it was weird as I never had a problem with eyestrain on my 15" rMBP...

Hmm yeah I think I might be getting something. After using screen for an hour or two my eyes feel tired, didn't get that on any other machine if so.

I have Manufacturer 610 and Model A019. Do I have an LG or Samsung?

Also, how do I calibrate the screen to an ideal optimal level of 2.2 gamma and as close to 6500K as possible? I ran the image retention test when I purchased this at the apple store and didn't spot anything irregular.

Do you have a 15" or 13"?

That's awesome, why do you feel like you need to calibrate it? Do you find it to be on the warm side?

Hmm, it seems it's slightly warm. I read around that members were seeking 2.2 gamma, good white points, and 6500K temperature. I want to ensure my display settings are "accurate."

Thanks for your help, fitgirl and others.

As long as it's warm but uniformed then your ok, if your display settings are 2.2 gamma and your temperature is 6500k then the settings are accurate and if you feel it's on the warm side just adjust the temperture to a cooler setting that's what I did, mine is at 6800k so I only adjusted it slightly.

Yes and yes. Will do, thanks!

Oh wow, thank you. It's a beauty, but I feel like I need to calibrate it.

Just be careful. You can't actually damage it, but it can be more of an annoyance than anything. There are no low level hardware functions in these things. Calibration is just screwing with the gpus table. I mention this frequently to try to dispel some of the strange ideas people have about the process.

They state those settings because they're close to sRGB. Note the cMBP is not close to sRGB in recent iterations. The c version is much much colder in appearance. It shouldn't look yellow, but they do not match side by side with the older format. I'll add that he's right. Lack of color uniformity is annoying.

just received mine today. its a N, LP154WT1-SJE1.

its seems pretty good so far but i cant compare to a samsung so i really dont know but the white is def not yellowish.
no dead pixels.

for the long run its better to have samsung or lg display?

I'm wondering the same thing.
Is it better to have a Samsung or a revised LG on the late 2013 macbooks?

I also have the LP154WT1-SJE1. The whites are white. No yellowish at all. No IR what so ever. Sometimes on a white or grey background I feel there is this very very faint darker area in the middle. I don't want to chance getting the Samsung yellow screen I hate yellow with a passion. I love a white cool screens where blues are blue :)

You know, I wouldn't have believed this last year... But I bought a late 2013 15" MBP yesterday [ LG screen version SJE1 ] and the screen is quite a bit better than my Samsung one on the Mid 2012 MBP.

The whites are cleaner and the colors are more vivid... The whole screen just appears brighter in comparison too...

By any chance can you tell me how you found which screen mfg and version you have. I, too, just bought the late 15" rMBP(base). I tried the terminal command, yet nothing other than "color lcd". My screen seems perfect after running IR test and no noticeable yellowing. Seems a little petty, but I would like to know so I may troubleshoot should any problems arise.
Thx
