Perhaps you forgot that Google came out with "Google Wallet", Samsung came out with "Samsung Wallet"... then Apple came out with their own "Apple Wallet".

Not to mention that "Loop Pay" (the magnetic swipe mode that Samsung bought) was also a name that was publicly used before "Apple Pay".

In reality, Pay and Wallet are common names for these services. They don't belong to anyone, as there have been plenty of electronic payment trademarks with "Pay" as part of their name.

Now, if Apple had called their method something non-obvious like "Apple Air Transact" and someone else afterwards used "Air Transact", then you could give that other company grief. But for using "Pay" (or for Apple using "Wallet") ?? No sir.

Samsung's existing Black Onyx variant of the Galaxy S7 already has a somewhat glossy finish, so the new color would presumably be even slicker.

Releasing a Jet Black phone makes sense... black covers up the burn marks better than white or silver.

Samsung is so unapologetic in its copy-everything-Apple-does that I almost have to admire it. Really. Even down to the colors. Wow.

It's now looking increasingly likely that this is a hoax, gratefully swallowed hook line and sinker by Apple devotees only to ready to believe anti Samsung rhetoric.

This is hilarious, they already do a shiny black, the s7 is better already than the 7 is practically every way, but boy the butt hurt is strong to in the Apple defense league.. they copied a colour that they already do. Lol, shiny deep dark black, look at the pictures people, it's black, not grey, but shiny black!!! Call it whatever you want, it's shiny black. I'm embarrassed for every single person on here who uses the word copying.!!!

Samsung does oled, Apple copies, Samsung does waterproof Apple copies, Samsung does wireless charging Apple copies, Samsung does fast charging, Apple copies, and on and on and on. What a pathetic company!!!! Samsung does a pen/pencil, Apple copies, Samsung does a large screen phone, Apple copies. So.... all the decent stuff that Samsung does first Apple copies, but it's cool, don't worry about it. Samsung releases a phone in a colour that they already do? And they are demons. What a pathetic site MR has become. You used to be able to debate, it's only worse than Apple insider now!!! And that's saying something.

I dont think Apple copied anything above.

Shouldn't all the Samsung promoters and apple haters be on the Android forum? How envious does one have to be to come on an Apple forum and diss people who like apple.

Just seems weird to me, as I never had the desire to go on the android central forum and tell people how bad their choice of phone or company they choose to buy from is.

Then again, it is hard to overcome millions of years of tribal evolution. It did provide a survival mechanism after all. My tribe good, other tribe bad. Ugh...... iPhone gift from Gods, Samsung phone bad, evil, has bad spirits. No!! iPhone from lesser gods. Only true phone Samsung phone. Samsung has more juju, Apple phone infidels.

Worse, none of us bothered to check the source article.

Surprise. It doesn't exactly say that Samsung is going to come out with a Jet Black.

Instead, it seems to say that Samsung will put their Onyx Black and a matte version of it on the Galaxy S7, in order to compete with Apple's Jet Black and matte black.

The move makes sense, they've seen a competitor do it with good results so why not follow suit. This is just what many businesses do, Samsung just do it fast and on a large large scale.

EDIT: Okay according to this page, it's still Sega, just had to be Samsung in South Korea.
