And if the world ends, it won't be the billionaires to blame. None of them have control of the means to end it.
Nothing can stop 2024 from coming.
iPads really aren’t meant to be upgraded every release cycle. If you have an M1 Pro you’re good for a few years, but if you’re coming off of an A12X/Z model then the upgrade could be worth it if you need the added RAM and performance.I am happy with my M1 until a bigger upgrade like an OLED and new chips. The M2 and hover is cool but didn't justify buying a new iPad
Interesting - I am still sticking with my old plasmas, as I still think they deliver the best quality, specially for watching at night. As we watch max a couple of hours per week, energy consumption is not an issue.Excited for this. Haven’t seen any reason to upgrade my current iPad since it’s already overpowered for what I need and Apple backported Stage Manager.
My OLED TV is one of my favorite purchases I’ve ever made. Made a bigger difference than HDR and 4K combined.
Well even with all humans gone 2024 would still be coming … inflationary cosmology indicates that time will not come to an endLet me ask Atari, Commodore and Wang computer companies.
I went from an amazing high end plasma to a LG C1 last year, definitely better blacks and better contrast, the brightness is the where Oled looks inferior to other technologies but at night is just not a factor, for someone who plays video games the difference is even bigger; I Would say if I were in the market right now one of those QD-Oleds from Samsung or Sony would be my choice but yeah, you can notice the difference between Plasma and Oled.So is OLED really at the level of plasma regarding blacks and colors - or would I still have to wait a couple of more years?

Why? It will still be crippled by iPad OS. Those Cupertino Cowards need to let iPad Pros have a form of Mac OS when attached to their keyboard and iPad OS in handheld/tablet mode.A 15“/16” iPad Pro would be an immediate purchase for me.

Yes, I was referring to a dual OS iPad. Also, I'm not saying I need the hypothetically docked version of Mac OS to be 100% identical, or be able run full versions of resource heavy apps like Premiere. But if I could get 70%-80% of Mac OS on iPad I would be happy. The iPads have more than enough power to handle Mac OS. I suspect the real reason Apple doesn't do it is out of fear hurting their computer sales.many types of apps cannot switch well between a tablet mode and desktop mode. They are different frameworks involved and you really don’t want Apple operating systems to end up doing what Windows has tried.
If you mean some kind of dual OS iPad that can switch between macOS and iPadOS that can be done but macOS and macOS apps obviously needs more memory for system and graphics than iPads offer.
Because I’d like a larger screen. My wife and I both traded in our MBAs for iPad Pros 12.9 and we can do everything we need to do, including running our retirement side-business, on what you call a device “crippled by iPadOS”.Why? It won’t hurt computer sales either way. Macs have features and pro apps that a tablet can’t have even if it tried. More ports, reliable full size keyboard, better display options, colour profile management, disk utilities, networking options, midi configurations, etc etcYes, I was referring to a dual OS iPad. Reminds me of the show Corporate... "It's like an iPad, but 8 times the size" 😀OLED or not I’m just ready for a 16” iPad Pro next year.
I would think the guy you replied to was 🙂I was not being literal obvs.
OLED doesn't need to achieve the high brightness of an lcd panel as per pixel dimming is far superior to dimming zones. This is apart from the better color volume and viewing angles of an OLED panel.Yes, but only IF they can keep the current brightness levels. Some of the major downsides for me anyways of Samsung‘s otherwise great tablets is : the lower brightness levels and the inferior anti-reflective coating.
Those two along with my personal preference of the iPad Pro aspect ratio is why I prefer that over the Samsung options
The blooming is only an issue in very dark environments, otherwise you don’t notice it at all.
You need to see yourself the stunning beauty and fidelity of subtle shade of HDR material displayed on Mini LED of the big iPadPro (and MacBook 14/16", and less so on iPhone 14 Pro). In fact, I now know that it's almost pointless to evaluate image taken by iPhone or to compare images between iPhone and others using any other displays. It’s not a need more a want I can save for the 2024 one which would be the smarter idea too ;-)
