Anybody have a good screen protector that is anti glare like the S25U display? I don't want to put a highly reflective screen protector on but I'm kinda worried about micro scratches as I carry my phone in my pockets alot

yeah so I have the samsung antireflective protector. Applied very easily, no bubbles, great. It does keep the anti reflective nature of the screen but when I first put it on, I thought it looked a little sparkly? like there was a kind of old dell monitor anti reflective film going on. To be fair, it's been a week and I can't say I notice it now even when I look for it.

Last year I used a hard glass protector and I felt that maybe looked better on the screen but yeah it did reflect and so basically negated the underlying screen tech.

yeah I don't know what changed for me. A few years back I told everyone that they needed an apple watch and once they tried it, they wouldn't be able to live without it. Lately I just haven't used it nearly as much and the ring has reduced it to the point where I really don't think I need to wear one at all.
I notice it the most when my wife and I are chilling at the end of the night and my Apple Watch keeps buzzing. And I have a lot of notifications turned off lol. Just can’t escape the constant notifications. Just looking at the Watch 6 Classic going for $170 open box at Best Buy is really tempting. Then I wouldn’t feel compelled to always wear it.

I've been surprised by display durability of newer gen Samsung phones. Haven't had no issues running with case and no screen protection (S23+, S24+ and now S25U). Also carry phone in a front pocket.

I would wait for July, when the Watch 8 is released. The 6 will be even cheaper then. At the same time, the promos for the New Watch 8 may make it the better buy. Regardless of which Watch you end up with, waiting for July seems to be the better option.

But $170 for the Watch 6 Classic is a good deal (when it retail for $450)... it's not breaking the bank. And when the Watch 8 is released, they can get maybe $200-250 for the Watch 6 Classic trade in.

Is this the 43 or 47mm?

I ordered this one but won’t arrive until Monday:

I currently have a Torras glass protector (thought I saw them advertise antiglare but no) but I’m having issues with the FPS sensitivity. If this new one doesn’t work I will get a matte film.

And that’s what I was thinking too. I’ll get more than what I paid for in July.

Interesting... according to this video below, One UI 7 has been in development for 3 years. And that 6000 mAh battery that's in the OnePlus 13 will be implemented next year.

Hopefully they will use latest battery chemistry but most likely they will wait at least another year after the s26??

Samsung's UI software has greatly improved over the last few years.

Just wish they would let us decide what apps we want installed instead of forcing duplicate apps that you have to disable or put into deep sleep.

I was thinking of going caseless with my new S25U. Is it too crazy?

I have a regular S23 which I use caseless, and it has a few scratches. But I suppose the S25U should have better scratch protection?

So many people want to caseless and I used to be one of them. If you buy accidental insurance through Samsung then I would say go for it. Otherwise one accidental drop on a hard surface from a few feet might be disastrous. Microscratches will appear everywhere after a few months but it is your phone.

Do what makes you happy but be prepared for the consequences if you do.

Personally I hate cases and screen protectors but since the s6 I have always used them because a few bucks and inconvenience for a phone that looks like new after a few years is worth it to me. I generally trade in or sell on private market depending on what will pay the most so having the phone in good condition for there next user is important to me and I am OCD on any scratches anywhere but that is me.

Just FYI the new glass is more shatter resistant but not more scratch resistant. Last years s24u scratches at a level 7 and this year it is back to 6. Titanium is generally tougher but softer so it will scratch easier than steel.

As you stated Samsung has came a long way, before we had to install Package Disable app. So, it don't really bother me much now...

And as far as I know... it's only two categories that are duplicate of each other, internet (Samsung Internet & Chrome) and email. But with email... you can uninstall Samsung Email, can't uninstall GMail though.

It is a $1400+ USD device.

Even with $300+ ones (that I've relied upon to derive a living + for daily personal interactions) and factoring in an additional 6+ hours to restore/reconfig, there is NFW I'd roll with no case.

@mjschabow I tested hey google with android auto again now that Apple Music is my default music app. It launched a playlist successfully probably 50% of the time. However it still won’t launch an individual song. It tells me to open the Apple Music app on my phone and try again. The only way to get it to work 100% for both is to have the phone unlocked with the Apple Music app on screen.

On a related note I hate how with google I have to pause after saying hey google. I cannot go into my request until it shows up as having heard me. With apple I can say it all as one without pausing. With google it misses the first few words if I try that.

I think this is a trivial price to pay considering you get the vast majority of Google/Pixel up and coming features ahead of time and it resonates with the general approach of having options :)
It has been a pet peeve of mine since the s4.

You may not care as many people don't but the gallery app is useless, Samsung messages is useless, Microsoft apps are useless.

Having options would be asking if people want these apps installed during setup and not forcing uninstallable apps on people.

Ultra at least is supposed to be for power users. Most power users can go to the play store and install apps they want on their phone with no hand holding required.

But if you like options, meaning apps force installed that are not for basic use of the phone then more power to you.

Thanks for the update! And kind of unfortunate but not a deal breaker. I am thinking about seeing what YT Music has to offer too.

I did not say I did not care I said it's a trivial price to pay and equally most pro's know how to delete or disable unwanted apps

If this minor inconvenience for some is all it takes to get many advance features developed by Samsung collaboration with the likes of Google and Microsoft

EG

Microsoft gave Samsung users 100-200GB of free storage for many years
Samsung and MS gave their users vertical integration across their devices that now rivals Apple offerings
Samsung and Google ensures that latest Galaxy phones gets features ahead of time even before the Pixel devices
Samsung and Google develop feature rich enhancements for their users that eventually get adopted in to Android

The vast majority IMO win at the minor inconvenience for some who have to delete some unwanted apps. As ever there are always some who want to have their cake and eat it LOL

I have no comment if you think the worlds best productivity software suite is useless to you

Samsung messages and galley are native apps for the phone functionality IMO

My IPhone16P has around 30 useless to me apps bundled, I just park them in a folder and move on

That's a good point. Samsung trade-in deals are so good that reviewers and consumers alike, should always consider them when comparing costs of the device on release day.
