Do it. I completely got rid of all Apple products. The first month, I had lots of cravings to go back. Month 2 is easy peasy. Literally no thoughts of returning to Apple.
Since I only use a phone I would have it easy I think. I hate many many things about iPhones at this point, and know that Android is much more freeing. Can’t even think of an app anymore that I would not know how to replace.

The only thing I struggle with is losing “Sign in with Apple” feature and all the mail aliases I have many with accounts..
Like damn how do I even transfer that to an Android phone

Wait until month 6-12 then you will will get tired of Windows BS and ****** UI inconsistencies. Unless you never liked MacOS or had a Mac.

All OS have their strengths and weaknesses.

Overall I like Android but not Windows. I like Mac's but not a big fan of iPhones.

But when I had a Mac and an iPhone and an iPad the whole setup was pretty sweet.

I guess I am just saying I wouldn't rush any decisions, the grass is always greener on the other side as they say.
I only use a work issued Windows laptop. Not really a PC guy and the last time I had a Mac, I barely used it.

Unless anyone knows of a quick around, that might create some initial headaches. But I had some apps set up to sign in with Apple and I ended up just going with a password reset. Initially annoying but once your passwords are reset, you don't think about it anymore.

Yea, looks like there is no other way around this, sounds like one evening spent resetting stuff

I had a MAC, it was okay - very overpriced for what it did. I hated not being able to run certain programs and decade old games. I hated how everything was hidden under ton of clicks through settings, I hated the settings search bar, and the connection to other devices that I thought will be a killer feature - well I barely used that one, including iPhone mirroring. I would never pay 3.5k$ for a Mac again (and never pay for a laptop that doesn’t have 120hz rr in 2025)
Or touchscreen...... I hate that my $500 2 in 1 HP laptop has touchscreen. But my new MacBook Air 13 for $1000 does not have that feature.

I still have the Mac and Apple TV and Ipad and I don't entirely need a mac or an Ipad. I have been running with two computers (One of which is a Windows) mainly because my stock trading program does not work on the mac, but it also does well on other things. I don't know if I can ever give up the Apple TV though. It's such a clean product and serves me well. I also had a single homepod but if there are better speaker options I'm open to ideas.

If you want a touchscreen, doesn't the Ipad achieve that same goal?
Not even close to the same goal. I recently had the iPad 13 M4 and over the weekend bought the new MBA 13 in Sky Blue. They are worlds apart in performance and workflows. The 2 operating systems are not close to being the same. The iPad IMHO has an over blown mobile (iPhone) OS that is not close to performing what the MBA does.
The iPad is priced at $1300 and the MBA at $1000. To get close to functionality the iPad needs other accessories like an keyboard. The Apple magic keyboard is $300...bringing the iPad solution to $1600. Then the keyboard is not stable on uneven surfaces like a person lap. Not all work flow is from a flat surface like a desk.

Amazingly the iPad has the logic board, SSD hard drive, memory, WIFI and cellular radios, and display all in the form factor of the MBA display and top lid. But somehow Apple can't put a digitizer on any of its MacBooks to enable touchscreen displays..... Apple is with holding features from the MBA to get customers to buy both an iPad and MacBook. I returned the iPad last week and will be returning the MBA this weekend. I will not buy another MacBook without a touchscreen just on the matter of principle. I know I might be in the minority on this subject though :)

Sorry for the off topic rant everyone!

So after using the S25U for 2 weeks, I like the phone so far, but as far as Android is concerned, they have Notifications all messed up.

None of my banking apps that send push notifications will come through immediately if the screen is off and the phone is sitting idle. As soon as I wake the phone up the messages come right it. Now if I am wearing my Watch 7 and use Google Pay, the notifications come through on the watch almost immediately. So it definately has something to do with the phone being in an idle state for that issue. Although, messaging apps seeem to work fine though and notifications comes through pretty quickly. I must say though, Microsoft Teams is a total mess on Android and not nearly as good as it's iOS version.

Here is an odd thing if anyone cares to check their S25U. I noticed when I was typing on the keyboard, it almost sounded like the glass or something wasn't totally glued on the bottom half of the screen and made a odd sound when I tapped there. If I tapped the top half it didn't make that sound. I dunno why, but I tried something, I took out the SPEN and started just tapping the screen with my finger and it didnt make that noise anymore, I put the SPEN back in and the sound is back. Its not a sound from the speakers, I guess its similar to a rattle sound. I guess when the SPEN is inside the phone it rattles or something when you tap the bottom of the sceen.

Try it and let me know if you notice the same thing. Of course be in a quiet place when you try it. :)

Never tried teams on my IP16P and now after testing wish I never did its like some toy version and the calendar is a joke. The android version with many more features replicates the desktop functionality rather well

Incidentally whist playing around with this, my Fold6 pinged with emails and even though my IP16P was in my hand and the mail was from my icloud account nothing zip until I opened mail app and it refreshed LOL

That is suprising. In my opinion at least, I think the iOS version of Teams is much better than the Android version.

I've never tried Teams on Android but I think the iOS version is pretty good at least for my daily use, I'd love to see the notification issue on Android resolved as so many people have come across the notifications not coming in on time when the phone sits standby time and the notifications get delayed due to the system's aggressiveness. I've been testing the OnePlus 13 for under a week now and I've noticed all notifications are coming through even when the phone goes in a good standby time. Samsung seems to be the one that is more aggressive with the pull back on notifications.

I think it even comes down to the person. I unlock my phone frequently enough where I don't really notice the issue.

Most definitely, I notice the delays when a phone is not active with SIM but at home set to receive notifications, if it sits standby then it's delayed.

So it seems the rattlng I mentioned when the S-Pen is inside the phone is pretty widespread.
Yeah...I just picked my phone and shook it and it did rattle a little....but then...is that really an issue? I mean i can't recreate the rattle unless i pick my phone up and shake really hard.....

Edit: Just for grins.....I picked up my 16PM and shook it hard......and the camera module rattles a little......

No, this is not the OIS rattling thing in the camera. This is something different.

The bottom part of the screen rattles when you tap on it or heavy vibrations. it is related to something with the S-Pen. When people take out the S-Pen, it stops rattling. I recreated the same thing.

I had an hp with a touchscreen, it annoyed me because when I would reposition screen angle I would hit the red x to close the program...

I can't replicate this. There is no rattling with my S25U.

If your display rattles when you shake your phone......then you should get it fixed it is defective. It should be under warranty...
I can't replicate what you describe as display rattling.
But my camera module rattles when I shake my phone really hard and only when I shake my phone really hard. Doesn't matter if the s-pen is in or not.

yeah the same thing happens with an iPad when you touch the display and an application reacts to the touch......
But to be honest with my laptops with touchscreens......i never grab the top of the display to reposition the laptop.....i usually just move it from the bottom......

Sometimes the worst thing you can do is read about faults with devices and things in general as you will go actively looking for that fault whereas prior to this you were blissfully unaware of the ‘fault’

Ignorance can indeed be bliss sometimes

I totally agree, and that can be said for many things in life. :)

The reason I brought up the rattling is because I happened to notice it on my phone when I type messages, so I just figured I'd Google it. To my suprise, a lot of people noticed the same thing.

Sorry that your phone rattles when you type on it....you should get it replaced.
