Ignore the leaks, wait for launch day. Same happens with the iphone every year. Try not to trust the leaks. I hope the s26 ultra will be great. I recently switched from ios to android and I like my S25 ultra.

Leaks are normally correct these days certainly when it comes to Samsung.

Not an issue these days imo, chips are so powerful it doesn’t make an iota of difference other than bragging rights.
Yes especially for someone like me who solely uses the phone for photography and photo editing. I don't play games or edit high-end video.

The pixel 10 pro is a prime example. Youtube seems to complain about performance but in the real world, vast majority know it’s a non issue

Not only that, but Google promised it with Android 16. I believe QPR 2 beta on the Pixel 10 doesn't even have the features yet. Android has to catch up, it is almost 2026. I'd have to believe Samsung will implement it properly quicker than Google will on the Pixels, because OneUI is the best, imo.

I don't want to go off topic re: CarPlay vs. Android Auto, but it amazes me that Google maps on CarPlay has real-time speed info and Android Auto still does not have it. I have the toggle enabled in Maps settings on my phone but it has never worked. Am I doing something wrong?

Still love the Fold 7 but the novelty has worn off a bit. I don't use the inner screen as much as I thought I would and still would like a wider outer screen. Viewing some vacation photos I took this past summer with my S25U, I miss the camera as well. Hopefully Samsung will offer a good trade in value toward the S26U, we'll soon find out.
Android auto has live traffic updates, you may need to also enable it on your car settings

The implementation of ‘Live Activities’ on Android is going to be far more reliant on the app developers. Samsung adding the feature first to One UI won’t make a difference because devs aren’t going to code for it only on Samsung devices.

Google rolling the feature out is much more important to get the ball rolling. And don’t hold your breath for quick adoption. It was a good couple of years before we started seeing a decent amount of usable live activities on the iPhone and iOS devs are generally much quicker to add features to their apps, respectively.

Here's a perfect example. Was just watching this YouTuber's dilemma over choosing an iPhone 17 Pro vs. an iPhone Air and coincidentally just came upon this clip, illustrating exactly what we're talking about in regards to Live Activities and developer's focus on iOS. And he's not an Apple fanboy...uses a lot of Android devices.

To be fair live activities has been around a few years longer but agree now bar will gain more now it's not exclusive to Samsung

However Samsung added a whole new depth to the now bar over Apple by being able to control smartthings, I,m sure there is a lot more users out there with a Samsung TV than Tesla’s lol

Right, I’m talking specifically about live speedometer though. There’s no way to get that to show on the Android Auto interface?
Apparently it's a known bug although some say it was removed for safety reasons so not to conflict with your car speedometer and or reliability yet it's still there on IOS version which is odd.

Fortunately I have HUD on my car so it would be superfluous 😀

Waze has it though, maybe try that 🙂

Is anyone else surprised that Samsung have allegedly already dropped the Edge from their range, I thought they might at least give it another generation before deciding its fate.

who said that? edge is going to be their main device after the ultra that i'm pretty sure of.

There’s been a couple of links posted on this thread, including one by myself indicating the Edge has been dropped in favour of a new plus model.

S26 edge is still coming though. Looks like may have better hardware too. Really don’t see why the brought back plus model unless was to get a cheaper price

With the 26 Plus rumors coming so late, I wonder if the S26 Plus is meant to replace the FE? Maybe it's a midcycle phone and not launching in January,

I wonder if the iPhone Air will suffer a similar fate or not. I haven't seen sales numbers on it, but there are a lot of people in the iPhone sub forum here trying to justify paying top dollar for a phone with so many compromises. LOL

Actually, rumors have it that Samsung is replacing the Edge in favor of a Pro phone.

Now rumors that the S26 Edge is canceled

Looking to pick up a S25 Edge to try out... but haven't seen any crazy discounts yet, one would think that if sales are that bad Samsung would be rushing them out the door.

But I think it's the options that they are given and some of these carriers are practical giving away Pro/Pro Max with trade in deals (took up an offer for a family member).

And if I'm a market for a new phone... why go with the Air when I can get a Pro/Pro Max for free? I think if carriers were to offer money back to buy the Air... they probably would consider it. I know if I'm giving an option to trade in my phone to get the iPhone Air that includes $200 money back, I'd do it lol.

Yeah I can't remember which YouTuber said it but it really seems like these super thin phones are more of a placeholder for when they're actually going to be able to have the technology to make these thin phones premium with better batteries and cameras.

Apparently, Apple won't be releasing the Air annually since it didn't include the model number... so we could be seeing the Air releasing in another two years. But we are so consumed with having better batteries when for the life of me... there's never a time I'm without some source to charge my device.

Seen a clip from the WaveForm podcast with MKBHD... they was comparing pictures from the iPhone camera to a Leica camera and they had a tough time choosing between the two. Ever since we moved past the 12MP mark for smartphone cameras (about 3 years ago)... nowadays they are all good enough from Samsung A series to the Pixel 9a.
