A folding phone seems cool. I've never held one in my hand. Curious how much thicker it is, compared to a regular phone. Just wondering what it would feel like in my front pocket.

I've never had an Android phone, and don't see switching just for a folding phone. I'm sure if Apple ever releases one, I'll buy one.

Yeh, I just don't get the yawns. If you are yawning then you're an Apple fanboy and gobble anything up with fruit logo on it; and not really a "tech fan" as a general category.

This is impressive tech no matter what company released it. Folding and an under-display camera in the mass market. Has basically every spec; even those the iPhone still doesn't.

And why do it? Because if no one does it we never move forward with tech. Somoene has to leap first.

But as long as Android isn’t receiving updates for as long as an iPhone there is no way I will ditch my iPhone. Also, the amount of bloat ware on Samsung phones is still ridiculous.
I cannot comment on the current Samsung UI (been in the iOS camp too long and only now started to look at Android devices again), but Samsung recently committed to a four year support cycle for its Galaxy phones (see e.g. https://www.sammobile.com/news/samsung-galaxy-4-year-software-update-policy-explains/). So while Apple probably still offers longer support, it is apparently not as bad as it used to be.

Wow the Z Flip 3 is just glorious. Would have preferred a slightly larger battery, but this is innovation at its finest. Honestly Apple need to hurry the hell up and release their version ASAP. The Z Flip 3 is $999 and is well worth it in my opinion. I would gladly pay slightly more than this for Apples version.

EDIT - Just seen MKBHD video of the Z Flip 3, and it looks even better close up, especially with the 2 tone finish. Also the fact that is it IPX8 (Fold 3 is as well), makes it even more impressive in terms of its build quality.

I love my Galaxy Watch 3, but I'm curious what it means for support and software now the new watches run a different OS.

I watched some of the unveiling and it was... surprisingly amateur?

The Flip is pretty cool... I'm definitely ready for that form factor to make a comeback. But the crease is still a problem... if they can eliminate that, and slim down the whole device, it would be perfect. Hopefully Apple can accomplish that.

I would like a foldable or rollable iPhone, but without mechanical issues and greases. And I think 3 screens in a foladable phone are a waste, you can achieve the same results with 2 screens.
I hope in 2 years we’ ll be able to get one from apple.

I’m still not interested in foldable devices. At least none of the items I’ve seen have tempted me in the slightest.

I admit the Z Flip 3 looks nice, but it doesn't make as much sense as the Fold, the idea of a tablet with a more compact form. But it does look really nice, the two-tone colors... I wonder how similar Phantom Green is to Midnight Green on 11 Pro.

I have the Active 2 and pre-ordered the new watch.
I want to see just how much better they made the OS experience.
My Apple Watch is still one of my favorites for using with my iPhone, since Apple doesn't allow other watches to have the same level of integration.
That said, the Active 2 when paired with my Note 20 Ultra is on par with the Apple Watch/iPhone experience.

Still a too-thick phone that turns into a too-small tablet, with a big crease down the screen. Still a solution looking for a problem IMO

The smartphones got so big that we need to fold them now
Samsung started this with Note and now they repair this issue with foldable, especially with galaxy flip phone

It's such a shame that Samsung haven't made a Note, if the fold is now the Note replacement, I think there will be a lot of unhappy Note fans out there. Here's hoping the Fold doesn't do as well and Samsung bring back the Note series next year!

The neo-flip-phone form factor is the first foldable phone design I've seen that doesn't look like a solution in search of a problem.

I've been thinking (and saying) for a while that that was the form factor that seemed like it might actually make sense for a foldable screen. It actually does something with the foldability, rather than using it to combine two slightly awkward form factors into a single phone. The exterior screen has a specific useful purpose, and it even takes some advantage of the fact that it has a mushy, stiff hinge to do some half-fold stuff with the screen that's at least marginally useful.

That said, it still looks more like a prerelease product than something I'd actually want to use. Until you can snap it open (old-school-clamshell-style) with one hand and a satisfying pop, it's just not going to be something I want to bother opening and closing a dozen times a day just to reduce the pocket footprint in exchange for a bigger bulge. The screen wrinkle also still just "feels" wrong, although maybe you get used to it after using the thing.

I'm still wondering/hoping if somebody will do the same form factor, but with two hard-glass screens that have no bezel on one side and meet with only a little seam down the middle. Seems like that'd be a more durable solution.
