This is pretty cool and useful. I would have loved this in the past for getting an idea of how different smartphones would feel. For example, I'd love if my XS Max could simulate the size of the iPhone 12 mini screen so I could get an idea for how using the phone would actually feel without having to go to a store.

I agree that it's pretty neat. Also a clever way of using the "Add to home screen" feature to provide an app-like experience without requiring Apple's approval (which of course they wouldn't have gotten). Although my short time using it has reinforced my decision to buy another iPhone as my next phone.

"Are you curious to see what it would be like to use a downmarket mobile os that originally was shamelessly plagiarized from Apple, in a significantly less secure operating environment, with features that commoditize your private, personal information every time you use it? Well, there's an app for that!"

This is actually genius. I bet a lot of people don't want to consider switching because they're scared of change/learning something new.

This is totally like dating someone new on the side while you're in relationship that's starting to glitch or get bogged down. I like it.

Well that was the worst phone ui interface I’ve used in a while. It has 0 style and wasn’t intuitive in the slightest.

iOS isn't perfect but the number of Critical vulnerabilities for Android due to the fragmented OS that can't be or is not timely patched due to the different carrier customizations and phone makers is what I see as Androids biggest weakness. Also, the resale value on Android devices is also terrible.

I have plenty of friends with Android devices, and I'm not intimidated by their home screens or the way they use their Android apps in the least. It's all about the ecosystem - and "walled garden" or not, I'll take Apple's over Google's every time.

It’s actually a pretty clever marketing tactic, in theory. I’m not sure how effective it’ll actually be, but it’s cool that you can essentially “test out” a phone right from your couch without doing much at all.

I can totally see someone doing the opposite and putting out an “iOS” app on android so that android users can fake having an iPhone.
