Have you used a Samsung phone in the past five years or so? They’re actually pretty nice. I own an iPhone 12 Pro, but every time I go to Best Buy, I like to fiddle around with the Galaxy Fold on demo. It’s pretty neat. You should go and mess around with one. I know you won’t, but you should.
Also, Samsung Phones have great battery life, and their cameras are on par with the iPhone Camera. I’ve owned numerous Android phones over the years, and guess what? They operate pretty much the same way iPhones do.
But I’m not gonna argue about the crap you wrote, or which is better. I just have one question:
Are you (and the many others who write basically the same copy-paste insults at Samsung or any other not Apple company) just not interested in tech, et al? Because there’s a ton of really cool stuff made by companies that aren’t made by a company named after one of the most annoying fruits to eat.
Do you own stock in Apple, and that’s why you write stuff like that? Or, are you only interested in what Apple makes, and that’s it, decision made, cemented, you can never possibly change your mind? Because if so, that’s freaking sad.
One last thing, and this isn’t directed at you, but Macrumors in general: This is one of the first websites/forums I really dug into when I started getting into tech, which was caused by my fascination with the Palm Treo 650 that I took to Iraq with me, then the iPhone, iPad, etc.
But over the past year or two, I’ve noticed that I’m coming here less and less, and it‘s mainly because the comments/forums are slowly turning into the comments/forums on Apple Insider, another tech site I used to visit all the time but stopped a few years ago. Apple Insider is dying a slow death, caused by an infestation of “Apple or Nothing!” sycophants. Articles that used to get 100, 200 comments now get 10, 12.
Macrumors, take heed — the same thing is starting to happen here. Your actual content is fine, but your forums have lost the fun, youthful energy that they had 10 years ago. Now it’s just a bunch of middle aged folks, a large percentage of whom probably work in IT, and likely say, “this country’s going in the gutter because of these damned Millenials” a half dozen times a day. Everyone here seems to be mad about something; no one ever seems to be excited about anything.
I know once I remove y’all from that sweet spot in my favorites bar, and stop coming here, no one will miss me. But I know I’ll miss what this site used to be. I’m just not going to let y’all rob me of my enthusiasm for all tech, and slowly convert me into one of the “Mads.”
