Now we are talking about cars.

Apple drone force are becoming more and more desperate.

What does cars have to do with phones/tablets?!

Easy to say,

This.

In a world where all 5 door hatchback/wagons look alike. IE, Apple's world (rectangle with rounded corners! Obvious blatant copy. 5 doors car ! Obvious Blatant copy.).

Since we're now arguing about cars, the i30 is European-designed for the European market.

What do they have in-common? They have four wheels, five doors and an engine.

I get how you're trying to deride me here (anyone could be American), but let me ask you this. Do you think it's impossible to look American by way of dress or setting? The items they "own" led me to believe they're American. It doesn't matter where they're actually from. The commercial was clearly meant to look like they were American and not South Korean.

That's like asking what a tourist looks like. If you're a local, you know it when you see it.

I'm not deriding you. I'm just curious how you can tell by how someone's dressed, their nationality, which in this day and age, bares minimal resemblance to race. Sure there might be broad strokes, but I challenge you to pick an Australian, Canadian, American or Brit* apart in a lineup.. so long as you can't see the Pom's teeth or hear the whinging of course ;)

*I left the Kiwi's out because they'd be attached at the groin to sheep, so they'd be easy to spot.

All in jest.

They look alike. They just don't look the same.

If you disagree, look up the definitions for alike and same.

Oh ok. Galaxy tab and ipad look alike, but not the same. Therefore its not a copy. thanks for clearing that up.

The things they own, the way they act, and the way they dress all help to determine nationality apart from race. All of those things are relatively distinctive if you see enough of it. You might not get that much information in a lineup. But I'd imagine that I'd get a fair amount of them correct.

I'd tell you what specifically gave me that impression if I could see the commercial again. I would have just said "white" but I always thought that that was a stupid term since Asian people usually have light skin. Perhaps European would be better, but I don't really want to be known as European/Hispanic (then people would think I say Barthelona :)). Besides, I'm an American, I'm not European. I believe in the Second Amendment, and I believe in personal responsibility and limited government.

Anyway, I'm pretty adept at telling whether someone is from China, Indonesia, Japan, or Korea too and many people think they all look alike. I just don't. I'm also good at telling various people of hispanic origin apart too. I know enough about the cultures to understand the differences. But it can't all be done in a single look. Generally I need more than that.

Plus I live in Florida and I've been to our theme parks a lot. It's easy to spot who isn't from America and where they're from. It's especially easy here—they're all sunburned. :D

And you could see their teeth, so clearly they weren't brits. :)

I was never one of the people saying that Samsung copied Apple. And I really couldn't care less one way or the other. However, I'm pretty sure that patent law relies on similarity when it comes to how something looks and the Galaxy Tab sure looks similar to an iPad 2. You're welcome?

I'm curious, what is that about Barthelona?

It's a matter of contention with pronunciation between Catalan and Castilian originally, but it exists in Castilian Spanish vs Latin American Spanish as well. I would imagine you would know that if you're in Premià de Mar.

This seems to explain it up well: http://www.hudin.com/blog/going_to_barcelona_no_not_barthelona/

Note also that it was a joke. As you should know, all Spaniards don't say that, and the ones from Barcelona don't as far as I can tell. You'd be the expert on that. I would imagine that Asturians don't either because that's where my family is from and, from what I can tell, so are most of the families in Tampa.

As for the joke, ignorant people here think this crap about a lisping king, so to be known as a Spaniard makes them think you speak like that when it really matters where you're from. One thing is certain, no one "lisps" here most likely because of where they originally came from. Also, from what I can tell, conquistadors didn't use the 'th' pronunciation for 's' which would explain the Latin American pronunciation.

Aaaah, I understand :)

When I speak Spanish I pronounce it Barthelona and when I speak Catalana I pronounce it Barcelona.
