I'd roll the dice on a 'disposable' $300-400 set before spending $5k on a TV that's going to be outside.

I know, that's exactly what I do. I have a $300 Hisense ghetto TV with a roku stock and the Comcast streaming app that we kept inside (for this purpose) and on the 3-4 nice days a year in Chicago we had I just carried it outside (it weighed probably 20 pounds) and plugged it in on our patio to watch the Cubs while I grilled and the kids played outside. I felt exactly like the guy grilling in the picture.

in Arizona the house will have a pool. I kicked around a tv. It’s dry enough that a cheap Visio or something will suffice. I am spending money on the grill set up

We used to have a cheap old TV for outdoors.

The problem is light; these outdoor TVs have particularly bright backlighting to help with that. A cheap one will ease the pain of damage, but it will never provide a particularly great viewing experience.
