In fairness, so many posters just go on and on about pro-Apple/iPad/etc... (redundant obsession posting) calling anyone who dissents as "uninformed" or "shortsighted" or "stupid."

Obviously, the negativity goes both ways.
It's good to be passionate about an opinion, but not everyone is polite about it. It's as if some try to deliberately make themselves seem like snobs. Pretty lame.

Guess what? We have snobs on MacRumors. Ignore them.

Whatever you do try to have some fun here, when it's warranted. Sometimes, this place just gets too serious. Unless someone is just mean (and then they should be reported if they're insulting you), I'd advise you to ignore sarcasm or dish some of it back, in a playful way. Think bunnies.

BTW, I wanted to call you an idiot, but wasn't sure how you'd take my little joke.:)

The hypocrisy in this thread is overwhelming and comical.

If you do not appreciate a post then report it. It seems fairly simple. People aren't always going to be on topic and the majority of people replying have all been guilty of this very topic, present company included.

:D I was expecting it actually. That joke would have KILLED! :D Most of us like jokes like that, but in that particular forum, posters aren't usually joking like that. It's a rude environment - that's all I'm pointing out.

That's why I prefer the Community Discussions forums.

I feel like the forum environment turns everyone into an interventionist; in a "real" situation one would be more likely to turn away and go about one's business.

And that, incidentally, would be my advice.

(No, I DO see the irony. ;) )
