Satechi makes lots of cool products but i don't get why the always have to put their name front and center for everyone to see. Apple doesn't even put a visible Apple Logo on the front of the iMac yet ****ing Satechi feels the need to put their name on it. Bothers me with their Watch/iPhone docks too. The best stuff is the stuff that blends in seamlessly.

Very nice. I wonder why Apple don't have magsafe / wireless pad on the foot of the iMac. Seems like an ideal way to charge up the wireless keyboard, mouse and your airpods.
The keyboard only costs $200 and the mouse only $100. They would have to both start at least at $1000 to build that space aged tech in them. /s

I really think this is a great idea and design. Like someone posted before, the keyboard fits perfectly on top, so there's an obvious attention to detail. There are some tweaks here and there I would make, but you can't please everyone.

I wonder if there a similar product that delivers actual Thunderbolt speeds comparable to the internal SSD.

Yes, Apple has the worst charging arrangement for their mouse in the history of computers. The new keyboard and mice that match the new iMac should have supported wireless charging to match their iPhones. They could than have offered a charging hub, similar to this, that would support charging the keyboard, mouse, or iPhone. They could have even arrange for daisy chaining the power cord from the iMac.

Apple only just moved the logo from the front center to the back with this iMac generation.

You have to give it to Satechi & its endless fight to keep USB A (3 ports of the obsolete standard, no less) while heading towards 2023, wouldnt more USB C ports be more useful?
That's a bit unfair since Setachi offer the only straightforward USB-C hub I've seen so far.

Considering that all these firms are producing legacy port adapters while true USB-C hubs are like rocking horse poo, maybe that's because they're responding to demand and sales? Because thinking that USB A is "obsolete" is just plain denial of reality.

Almost every peripheral I have - including stuff bought in the last year or two - comes with a USB-A or B port and the appropriate USB-A cable. The exceptions are a pair of monitors with USB-C cables (...and they have downstream USB A ports) an Amazon kindle with a USB-C charge port (which came with a USB-C -to USB-A charge cable...) - oh and a Raspberry Pi which uses USB-C for charge and USB-A for everything else... Note that much of this stuff neither uses or needs USB 3.0 speeds, let alone 3.1G2 10Gbps, so there's zero advantage in plugging it into USB-C vs A (and, outside the Mac bubble, USB A supports 10Gbps anyway) - and anything that does and is speed-critical is probably best plugged directly in to the Mac.

Ok, so on a desktop it's no great hardship to use C-to-A adapters but then, when choosing a hub do you get the one that's going to need dongles/new cables for 20% of your peripherals or for 80% of your peripherals?

Judging by how many people around me still have USB A thumb drives, external SSDs/HDDs and mice/keyboards (although those are probably a lesser concern for iMac users), I doubt it.
I probably wouldn’t have put 3 ports on it but I don’t think it’s anywhere near obsolete yet.

Personally, I bought a couple of adapters (UBS A to C) to use all that “old stuff” on my MacBook but I would have preferred the laptop to still come with a USB A port, tbh.

There are wireless charging mice on the market, and none of them are particularly popular. I haven't used any of them, so I can't speak to why.

I get why Apple puts the charge port on the bottom of the mouse, but what I don't get is why the mouse shape hasn't been fixed yet.

If you're going to ship an accessory intended for a product with multiple colors -- either offer those colors to match, or pick your own.

The sky blue alone makes no sense. Should have gone space gray/silver at that point.

The dock comes in silver and blue color options, matching the respective colors of the 24-inch iMac
If you're going to comment on an article -- either read it, or act like you did. Silver:
