What happens when the next Macbook is thinner? Will this then be thicker than the computer causing it to support the weight on the USB-C port?

Seems like maybe the same thing with a female USB-C port and a short USB-C cable would have been handier and more future proof.

Such a shame that so many of these ultra-portable wireless watch chargers tend to forget that a lot of us have a loop band. This looks like you'd be using a wobbly laptop if you had a watch being charged with something like the Milanese Loop.

For what? You can choose to believe me or not. You seem to have made your mind up already, despite the facts. I never said it was a good iPhone charger. I just stated that it does, in fact, charge the phone.
Because I can’t visualize it so a photo will help

Clever design, but I literally never charge my devices off my Mac. Too slow, and too much clutter. I have dedicated cables for all my devices all over my house that charge much faster and more conveniently than anything that comes from a Mac.
I agree with you. While not related to this device, I hook up my 12Max to my MBP when I camped out on the sofa. If the iPhone 12Max didn't drain so quickly, I wouldn't need that either.

Look at the picture provided in OP and use your imagination. As long as the charging coils match up it works. I have the prior version without Apple Watch charger but it’s the same design and looks like if fits exactly like mine.

What Apple should do is enable recharge the Airpods and the watch using the backside of the iPhone. Call it Charge Sharing.

the dual-sided design can charge the Apple Watch or AirPods depending on the accessory's orientation
Is this true? Does the Satechi state that both coils won’t work simultaneously? Because if they can, pls change “or” to “and/or”. You could stack AP’s-charger-AW. Someone could even make an accessory holding it vertically.

I have both of these Satechi products separately currently (Watch and AirPods). I never plug into laptop - always in to a Satechi Gan Adapter. If this would charge both together (by closing watch star over the AirPods Pro) I'd definitely reduce from two units to one and buy it

Hmmm.... $50 and I give up 50% of my ports...

I'll pass.
Looks like it could be 100% of ports if you have a device with two USB-C ports as it appears this device will cover the other port.
If your mobile and in dire need to just enough juice to get another 1hr +, this might make sense but, not at $50. $30 would be more reasonable, in my opinion.
Agree $30/£30 would be more reasonable. Mind you, Apple charges $29/£29 just for the Apple Watch cable which is daylight robbery.

Charing Apple devices is a bit of a mess – Apple Watch, iPhones and iPads require different cables and sometimes chargers (depending on ports on chargers and which cables you have). At least one lightning cable cable charge two of the three devices I suppose.

Meh, announced literally the day after I bought Satechi's Watch-only charger. May have to return that and get this instead. Though I admittedly don't have AirPods yet but planned to buy a pair of Pro's whenever the new version is released, and who knows if Apple will break charger compatibility at that time…

I debated buying their separate apple watch and Airpods chargers a little while ago but didn't want to read two. It's like they read my mind, and now they're going to hose me for it :(

I just bought it, but reasonably this isn't very useful during a pandemic. Hopefully it will prove useful in the future
Enjoy! I considered but passed. Already have 2 watch pucks (AW3 + AW6; home + travel bag) and NON-wireless charging Airpods case (so useless for that). When I'm completely, comfortably out + about, pre-pandemic style, accessories w/b SEVERAL generations ahead. I'll reconsider then 😊

Agree! I have several band styles. At least Milanese crumples down flat vs sport loop. I solved that with $10 standing silicone surround that holds charging puck vertically.

Ah Yes, Apple. The company that bravely combats e-waste. Marvel at how wireless charging still manages to require two different pads!

I nearly bought the watch one, as it looks good for your watch on an ipad with magic keyboard, now it's reversable I can't see myself not wanting to twist it while still in the port... Is it space grey or silver or somewhere in between?
