That shouldn't be a surprise. Most people who buy one will say they are satisfied because they own one. I have one and don't care for it. It is going back for a Pro. I can't live with this screen considering I paid top dollar for it.

So we ALL know you are unhappy with your macbook. Can you hurry up and return it and stop hating on all of the polls where people say they are satisfied. I mean 78 posts saying the new macbook sucks is ridiculous.

I understand how someone who doesn't own one could be "unsatisfied" (lack of FW e.g.), but how could they be "satisfied"? Doesn't make much sense.

As if in satisfied with the overall changes and design.

I love my new macbook. Only problem is im trying to find the right color calibrated profile to use for everyday use. with a good mix for video watching and internet browsing. I know some pple hate the new displays but for me its fine. It's better than the prev gen macbook display IMO...probably not as good as the macbook air screen but that laptop is a premium product..

No issues with mine. battery cover isn't loose, no scratches, haven't found any dead or stuck pixels and I don't have crooked keys.

The battery cover will move a little if i push or pull on either side.. but it doesn't pull back at all, it is firmly in place. Not a big deal.. mine is nothing like the ones floating around in the videos where the cover pulls back and then snaps back into place.

Mine is also totally even.. it doesn't shift when I press on any of the 4 corners.

Well considering a few of my friends have the Pro and I have a 2.4 new one and we compared them side by side I know theirs is superior to this one. I have spent hours on the Pro's and hours on this new 2.4 and you have to be blind if you can't tell their is a big difference. Heck my previous blackbook was just as good this one with the screen. Your opinion comes from a few minutes in a store. Spend hours working and playing on one and then you would know the BIG difference.

I would greatly appreciate if you stop hating all over the place, seriously. Its a LAPTOP screen. I mean, good lord, a laptop. If you want screen quality park it on a desk with a $700 display. What are you really going to be doing away from your home that requires perfect color and contrast?

That being said, I'm pleased with my purchase. Near as I can tell, mine is defect-free and seems to be a near perfect product. The battery cover is a bit loose, but I realized after opening it that it happened AFTER I opened it, so I probably bent the retaining bits a little.

I like it a lot a although I haven't used it that much yet.

I really like the trackpad. This is a very big deal for me as that is the way I communicate with the world (just kidding)

No seriously, the thing is way cool. The screen could be a little better with the angle/color thing. But WTF.

Apple should be very proud of this new line.

(it's funny though, from the tone of this forum you would think Apple has just raised and army of deadly zombies)

(just a little Halloween joke there)

Also, it's very odd that it isn't mentioned all that much how much better the new vs the old.

My GOD the difference is remarkable.

Mine is fine. I upgraded from a 2 year old black macbook.

I am an aircraft inspector for a living, not a computer professional. I find the fit and finish out very high quality. Yes there are a few flaws, some that others are bemoaning as being "so screwed" about, but they never even caught my eye until I went intentionally looking for them.

I see no reason to carry around a bigger laptop just to have a nicer screen. I also almost never used firewire so I dont really need that either. I would love to have an air, but not enough to justify the extra money. For that much, I can buy this macbook and one of the new displays (which I plan too).

Personally, I think all this is because people get so excited and work themselves into a frenzy each time apple releases new designs. I can respect the people who are being adult about their laptops flaws (whether real or imaginary). But I have a hard time listening to the people who go on and on and get so ***** emotional. It is a piece of equipment, not a romantic interest.

so as we can see the satisfied customers far overwhelm the unsatisfied customers. Good poll for the people on the edge considering to buy or not and getting put off by the negative threads.
I had a perfect mbp (the original revA) before the unibody mbp which is also perfect with no problems at all.

almost 100% happy

I would have been satisfied but when i paid $2,399 for my 2.4 aluminium macbook, i would have expected that the battery/hard drive cover would actually be flush with the rest of the casing. Instead, there is about 3 millimetres difference and it is very noticeable.

I know some of you may think im complaining over something so little, but when you pay this much for a computer that is supposed to be of better quality, you expect that it will actually be better quality!

I have considered taking it back and getting them to swap it over, however, i think they will laugh and say 'good joke'

95% happy with Apple. Only problem is the slanted keys which I'm too lazy to fix right now but I will. I love the machine. It's quiet, it runs very cool, and it's sleek.

Other than that, I'm unhappy with OWC as their RAM I bought made the computer a crash-o-matic. We'll see if the replacement works.

How did you spend $2399 for the MB? I spent $1525 for my 2GHz model plus free printer (worth $99.95) 4GB RAM and 320 GB HDD from OWC after taxes and rebates. Though I did have the $50 ed discount.

Ah the problems of living in Australia haha. Our Apple prices are hugely inflated here, its crazy!

I got mine today. Liking it so far.

I don't use firewire, but I think they should have put it in because it's a shame for the arty types that macs are traditionally aimed at. Or at least an ethernet to firewire adaptor or something so it's supported.

They're overpriced too.

No, battery cover loose. The "fix" didn't work for me. Shocking service from Apple. Only talked to one helpful person.

Apart from that I really like the new MacBook.
