Save as PDF... from Word 2008

I thought this was the eureka moment, as I too have Canon printer drivers installed. I tried removing them and then creating a PDF from Word, but still get the bug :(
 
We've confirmed that there's a problem here. We're still trying to figure out exactly what's happening here - there's a few different facets of it, so it's a hairier problem than we first thought when I got the original files from Archive.

One potential issue is with fonts. For example, everything seems to be okay if you're using Cambria bold or italic. So a potential workaround is to try different fonts and get one that both works and you like.
